Great off-trail hiking boot!!! By Kristin from Dallas, Tx on 04/30/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Durable, Stable, Warm Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was recommended these boots for my geology treks by my peers and I love them. I had to break them in, as they are not as soft and cushy as the strykers when you first put them on, but it only took about half a week of normal wear to break them in. I had a bit of rubbing around the ankles- more padding would be nice there, but a nice sock cures that issue.
I got them on a wednesday after reordering a larger size (as I initially ordered a half size smaller per website advise and they were too small-maybe good advice for narrow feet, but NOT good advice in my case) and had a geology field trip on Friday. I trekked through rocky embankments on a spillway, in muddy marshy areas, and on regular trails and these shoes were awesome! I had bought sole inserts for them (goretex approved, the green ones, forget brand) and the combo was just heaven. My legs didn't ache at all, and I was happy to not have to worry about my feet while trying to race to the outcrops.
I love these shoes!

I'm Hooked on Asolo Boots By Peakbagger from New England on 04/20/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking, Multi-day Backpacking, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Backpacker, Outdoor Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair of Asolo boots. My first pair were FSM 55 gortex which lasted through 5 years of three season hiking & backpacking in the White Mountains. The first thing to go on the FSM's was the tread on the Vibrum soles. Other than that, the boot is still in service as a work boot to deliver the U.S. Mail! Asolo has changed the material used on the soles of their newer models & I have yet to see how long this material will last. There is literally no break in required of Asolo boots. They're comfortable right out of the box. The wide toe box is fantastically comfortable for someone like me who has bunions or is wider in that part of the foot.
comfortable, lightweight boot By j from florida on 04/07/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I tried several pairs of boots and these were by far the most comfortable and lightweight. I have a slightly wide forefoot and narrow heel and these have worked great for me.
