By In love with the mountains from usually Illinois on 09/30/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: On a recent hiking trip to the Tetons and the Rockies, these boots were my main hikers. I had very little time to break them in before we went, but was still completely comfortable hiking the rocky terrain as well as the flat. The only trouble I ran into was when I didn't lace them all the way up (on purpose) and caught the laces in the empty hooks. We didn't go thru water, so have no info on whether or not they're water resistant, but they were definitely warm and comfortable after several hours of hiking.
Great Boots for the Trail By Goldfinger from Denver, CO on 09/24/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Rocky Terrain Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was able to hop, skip and jump on a rugged trail with these boots. They were great. The size ran true for me. My feet are on the narrow side and these Asolos were the only boots I found that fit me well--and I tried on a lot of different brands. My only complaint was that after a couple of hours I felt a stiff metal piece inside the lining start to rub against my right ankle.

may be the last hikers i ever buy! By white mountain momma from northeastern Mass on 08/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Flexible, Great Traction, Short break-in time, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: love these boots! great fit for my feet, which are a little wide. i also love the thick, rigid soles: much better protection from rocks than a more athletic-shoe-style boot, but just as light. Only con was that the fronts of my ankles were a little sore after my first long hike. Had i known then, i would have padded the toungue for the 1st wear to help break in.

Comfortable hiking even when wet By Chauga Wanderer from Madison, SC on 07/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Roomy toe box, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Because of a trail collapse we had to hike in high water on a rocky river bed for about 4.5 hrs. At lunch I was able to drain my boots, put on a fresh pair of socks and hike out with basically dry feet. The outsides of the boot took several days to dry but boot shape and size and comfort remained unchanged. Great boot for high arches.
