I regret having bought these chairs. By Bliss from connecticut on 07/20/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable Cons: Not Weather Proof, Poor quality Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The design is attractive. The chairs are comfortable to sit in. However, this in not the quality of teak--if indeed it is teak-- found in outdoor furniture showrooms. The chairs are stained--the stain was applied unevenly. The wood resembles the redwood picnic furniture of the 1950's and 1960's. I expect splinters to appear any day now. Genuine teak lasts a lifetime, I expect these chairs to last 1-2 seasons.
By Missy from Piqua, Ohio on 07/16/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Cleans Easily, Comfortable, Easy To Store Best Uses: Decks, Patios, Relaxing Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They are sturdy and well made. No scuffing or damage to a rug that you drag them across (they are heavy).
By Long time Sierra Fan from Evanston, Illinois on 07/03/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Easy To Store Cons: Poorly made slivers, Uneven stain, Wobbly arms Best Uses: Decks, Entertaining, Lawns, Patios, Relaxing Describe Yourself: Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These chairs were not of the quality I usually expect from Sierra Trading Post. It will be easy to get splinters as a result of a number of rough spots in the wood. What is good about them is their comfort and the ease of setting them up--so I love both the idea and the feel once one is seated.

Had to go to the hardware store and spend $20 to get screws to replace the ones that were missing.

poor grade teak quality & construction By outlier from petaluma, ca on 06/21/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Store Describe Yourself: Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If something seems too good to be true, then it probably isn't as good as it proposes to be. I assumed that Teak is Teak, but if these chairs are constructed of Teak, it is Teak I'm not familiar with, which is usually a light neutral-colored wood and ages w/a gray patina. The best thing I can say about these chairs is that they were delivered within a few days. However, that's where satisfaction w/this product ends.Apparently the teak has been stained a dark, reddish color to hide imperfections/flaws in the low-grade wood. Then an oil sealant was applied, but it still hadn't cured/dried, and pooled wet to the touch. I couldn't sit on them until I'd wiped off the excess oil. However, before I could sit in either chair, I noticed screws were missing where critical hardware attaches the chair arms. I tried to replace the screws after finding them loose inside the torn cardboard box, but the wood would not hold them as the screw holes were drilled too large, and the screws are far too small to secure the hardware.I dug through my screw collection, hauled out my drill, and attached larger screws. To gain access to the screw holes, I first had to remove the bolts and nuts then replace them. Did I mention the odd odor of the oil/sealant?I would return these chairs, but it's a very large and heavy box, which cost [$] extra due to size and weight.Save yourself the disappointment, effort, and money, and purchase quality teak chairs elsewhere.
