Comments:
I've used this on 7-9 day trips overseas as well as weekend trips domestically. This is an incredibly well-made bag. While technically a very few inches over carry-on size for most airlines, it's been my experience that the compression straps bring it down enough in size to fit easily in most overhead bins (note that this is smaller than the 2008 model, which has a greater capacity). However, the bag has also survived check-in without damage. The backpack straps are a great feature; I use them exclusively once out of the airport. If you're a souvenir purchaser, you may find this capacity limiting, but I've done long trips with just this bag and a carry-on personal item - it's easily to pack efficiently.

Bought mine for use on 7-10 day sailing trips. Liked it so much, bought one for the boat owner. He likes it enough that continued invitations to sailing trips are assured.

Eagle creek makes great luggage so we had to pick this one up because of the great price and nice medium size. Just got back from a college orientation and we carried it on during our outbound trip but checked it on the way home since it was full of things we had purchased. Held up nicely.

Optional internal dividers are useful for organizing but can fold down when not needed. Small interior zip pockets are great for keeping track of small items. Durable and padded construction protects contents wel

An incredibly versatile and well designed duffel bag. The ORV Gear Bag has just enough padding to protect your gear and gives the bag just enough "body" to make packing easier. The zip-out (but attached) dividers help with organization and the resulting compartments are just the right size for EC's Packing Cubes (also highly recommended). The bag can be carried with the handles, shoulder strap and the concealed shoulder straps make it a rudimentary travel pack. I've used it for weekend trips and most recently a week long trip to Baja with more than enough gear. This bag just seems to swallow an amazing amount of stuff! The only real differences between this '07 and the '08 version are the relocated compression strap fasteners and one of the top lid compartments now has a external zipper. Personally, I prefer the old design since it's less likely to open (or be opened) by accident. Plus, it comes with Eagle Creek's no-fault repair or replace policy, but this bag is so well built, I doubt you'll ever need to use it.
