It takes only minutes to set up and slides easily across the lawn to a new shady spot. Disassembling for winter storage will be just as easy. Don't forget to keep the box for storage!

Comments:
Sets up super easy with minimal tools, tighten 2 bolts and you're done. When I first assembled it and tried to string a backpacking hammock on it, I panicked. I had to string it very tight=>no sag to keep the hammock off the ground. As I laid on the zero sag hammock, the end poles came up and it sagged out correctly. With just a couple tries/adjustments, I was able to get just right and off the ground. For backpacking hammockers, the downside is you can't "eyeball" the amount of sag as you would between trees. Just string it real tight and when you get in, the end poles rise and you get the sag. Pros: it goes together and comes apart easily. It is transportable in any vehicle if you take it apart into it's 8 sections, mainly steel tubes. Cons: it's big and heavy. You can't "eyeball" the correct sag the first time. As a matter of fact, the correct sag = 0 and tight until you get in it. The little pushbuttons that make it assemble and disassemble so quickly are flimsy and will likely break, because they all do. If this thing was carbon fiber, I would give it a 5.

A steal of a deal. Be forewarned, this is a BIG stand that takes up lots of room. But that's necessary with a big hammock. Snaps together in under 5 minutes, but is very solid.

HUGE, but nice quality
By thesometimesgirl from Baltimore, MD on 05/15/2009
Pros:
Compact, Easy Set Up
Cons:
Bulky, Heavy, Huge
Best Uses:
Backyard
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought this to hang the ABO Gear Borroloola Hammock because I couldn't find another hammock stand in all of Baltimore. When it arrived, this thing wouldn't fit in my backyard, even diagonally, and it WOULDN'T FIT THE HAMMOCK. I know it's not supposed to, but someone might wonder. Rather than send it back, I took out the section in the middle. The frame is still sturdy (it rocks when you swing in the hammock) and still supports the weight of two adults, AND it fits in the backyard now. It goes together REALLY easily with snap-in buttons, but when they rust, it's not going to be possible to get the frame apart again. It's also VERY heavy ... almost 60 lbs I think. Overall it's a great frame with the price and didn't argue when I modified the size.

Strong, Safe, Large & Collapsable
By skinnylittleblonde from georgia on 05/13/2009
Pros:
Easy Set Up, Safe, Sturdy
Cons:
Bulky, Heavy
Best Uses:
Backyard, Campgrounds, Road Trips
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This item is the exact size described. Previous reviewer must not have measured or rec'd different item. 15' is big, but is what is needed to accommodate most of the larger sized two person hammocks. Stand comes with chains to accommodate smaller hammocks. Very sturdy & very easy to put together (I am a 100lb female, put it together in less than ten) To move it, I will probably have to collapse it because it does weigh a good bit, but taking apart will be as quick as putting it together & I surely aim to take this baby to the beach for a week next month :)
