Very happy with this hammock By philliesnut from Ellsworth, Kansas on 07/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Easy Set Up Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Beach, Campgrounds, Day Trips, Outdoor Events, Road Trips Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this hammock last summer for my husband. We both love it so much that I am buying another. The metal pieces that are on the fasteners do "stick out funny" as another reviewer said, but I took ours off and the rope is sturdy enough without it. The fabric on ours has been fine, although I usually take it off of the stand and put it in the garage when not in use. Fantastic hammock!!
By acm from illinois on 05/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the metal loops inside the cotton loops don't hang well--they stick out funny. The stand is very sturdy and easy to set up. a great buy.
By SuiteP from San Jose, CA on 04/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great hammock for backyard use and camping trips. It is not very portable, but good if you plan to have it set up somewhere for a while.
By Mom from Cinci on 04/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We are not fans of the rope/string type hammock, so this is wonderful. Probably can't use it if you are very large, though.
By Amber from NY on 03/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Easy Set Up, Value Cons: Bulky, Kids' safety, Portability Best Uses: Backyard, Indoors Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Looks good, well-made, easy to set up, sturdy. Excellent bargain.
Not super-portable due to lack of carrying bag, weight and shape of components, but is easy to store in corner of a shed or back of a car.
I do not recommend this set for unsupervised use by children. It doesn't swing in a large arc, and upon attempts to do so, may become unstable or dump kids onto the steel support bar.
I've always wanted a hammock... By DesertDiva from Phoenix, Az on 03/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Set Up, Easy to transport Cons: Can't be left in the rain Best Uses: Backyard, Campgrounds, Road Trips Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: ...but I never had 2 trees close enough together. Now I don't need them. The stand is easy to set up and take down, and it can be moved to the shade or sun, whichever I'm in the mood for. It easily fits in the car for picnics and camping trips.
The only disadvantage is that the instructions say that the frame shouldn't be left outside in the rain--since when can't outdoor furniture stand a little rain?
By Cat from New Mexico on 02/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Set Up Best Uses: Campgrounds, Day Trips Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm happy to have a hammock without spending $100-200. This one seems just fine. Yes, it's high off the ground, but it is comfortable once I get in.
Can't complain too much due to the price By jules from texas on 01/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Set Up Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wouldn't really consider this a hammock that you would want to lug around and plan to set up quickly. Although it was fairly easy to put together, I wouldn't want to try to move it around alot, other than within your yard. The hammock itself came with a flaw in the fabric which I will have to patch to obtain a reasonable amount of use from it. Not real sturdy, but for the price, what can I say?
By p from princeton, nj on 01/03/2009 Pros: Easy Set Up, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: unsure how it will hold up; a little precarious/unstable - kids need watching
Easy to assemble, only safe for adults By St. Louis Shopper from St. Louis, MO on 08/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Easy Set Up, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The stand is super easy to assemble, no tools required. I only used it in my backyard but given the ease of assembly and it's lightweight nature, this system could be very portable. The hammock itself seems a bit flimsy, probably only safe for people less than 200lbs. Because the stand is small, the hammock has to be hung relatively high so that it does not touch the ground with the weight of a person. That said, this hammock should not be used by children without supervision, they may easily fall out of the hammock while trying to get in or out of it. Overall, it is great value and fun to use if you are careful.
