Great product. Very light weight. By joan from saugatuck, michigan on 03/09/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very easy to adust to my height (I'm short). Grips are comfortable. I use them for day hikes. I like the upper body involvement. Previously I had hiked with just one pole, but two is definitely better. I like them for both uphill and downhill to stabilize me. I ESPECIALLY like them for uphill when there is significant altitude gain. The price was great.
By Ritsi from High Sierra Hiking on 03/03/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Strong Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are strong poles that have held up for years. This is my second pair, after about 750 miles, most of which are off-trail in the high sierra's. They hold my weight, don't slip very much and are comfortable. I've used lighter poles, but prefer these since we sometimes use them to stop a slide or glissading and I've found that my lighter poles bend too easy.
Good pole but strap could be improved By Ridgetopper from Roanoke, VA on 03/03/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Cons: Limited strap positions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are good quality poles. My only reservation is that the straps that seemed more plush and nice actually limit the comfortable positions because they're wide and stiff.
Can't use yet - no rubber tips! By Urban walker from D.C. on 03/03/2009 Cons: No rubber tips, Sierra not carry tips Best Uses: Plan urban walks Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm not an adventurer - just got these to help with urban walks - didn't realize that needed rubber tips not part of the package - went back to get them from Sierra - not available. I may have found them from another source - don't know yet.

They make the "walking" into cross country skiing. I feel that now I'm getting an upper body workout as well as a lower body workout when I walk. I've only had them for about a week and so far so good.
