By Bob White from Central Texas on 05/14/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Came in handy as a back-up when my main headlight gave out on day-nine during a 10-day hike in New Mexico. Adequate light output for following established trails. Perfect for what it is.
Compact and good for many uses. By Bob from Dayton,OH on 05/13/2008 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Spare Bulb, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My son used this on his Boy Scout trip and loved it. My dog Sammy uses it on his collar at night so we can see him around the camp site.
By Caver from Austin, TX on 04/28/2008 Best Uses: Caving BU Light Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got out of a cave with it the very first time using it due to a main lamp failure! Could use a rubberized back on the mount to help keep it from sliding back on your helmet when pushing through tight crawls, other than that, I'm thoroughly impressed. Submersed at least 1ft in water with no ill effects. These are great, compact BU lights for caving!
By Dman from south san francisco, ca on 04/24/2008 Pros: Bright, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great backup light. not waterproof like they say
Very small, handy emergency light By David in Kenai from Kenai, Alaska on 04/15/2008 Best Uses: Backpacking, Backup light, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bring this along as a back-up light for hiking and as a handy way to light inside a tent or car. The option of clipping it to a head strap or belt is nice for hiking hands-free with, but that is rarely how I use it.
IMO, blinking is a silly option to have and I'd rather LED lights were simply on-off.
By Kindhands from Baltimore, MD on 04/13/2008 Best Uses: Around the house, Finding stuff under couch Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This product is great. Its small compact design with an extremely bright LED light is perfect for finding change under the couch or following a trail. The blinking feature is especially great when I am walking my dog during dusk and dawn.
By C-T-Walker from LONDON,ENGLAND. on 04/09/2008 Pros: Bright, Large switch, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, General, Hiking Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Compact light with useful features; detachable-angle adjustable strap fitting bracket,continuous/flashing mode, large weatherproof switch and easy battery change.
By Bob from Elsewhere on 04/09/2008 Pros: Bright, Durable, Flash mode, Handy, price, Tiny Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's a great backup light - it clips on a webbing strap or the head band of a head torch. You can use it in place or simply twist it off its clip to use in the hand. It's all plastic so it's comfortable to hold in the mouth if necessary (ever tried that with a mini maglight?).
It's bright for its size, but it's small - hey, it's a backup. Good price too.
I bought several - attached one to each of my head torches and each of the rucksacks I use a lot.
The reserve 'chute of lights! By Bob from St Paul, MN on 04/03/2008 Pros: Bright, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my back-up light. Small size takes up NO space so it's easy and very handy to have, but can come on if button is pressed in error- the only drawback I can see. Keep one in the car, one in your pack. Anywhere you may need light- it's handy to have.
By Rhodiwr from Wisconsin on 04/03/2008 Cons: Need to use clip, No variable intensity Best Uses: Backpacking, Emergencies Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've attached one of these to all of my packs, keep one in the car, etc.
Throws out a good bit of light and has a positive on/off switch.
Not sure how useful the strobe function is, but hey maybe I'll need it someday throw a rave inside my tent.
