Have a bunch of these - they're great! By huja from SFO on 03/27/2008 Pros: Small and attachable Best Uses: Night walking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have one attached to a strap on my travel backpack. It's come in handy on the plane, on a boat, in the hotel room, etc. I have one attached to my dog's leash. I set to blink when walking at night. These things are inexpensive, small and just so very useful. AND you can change the battery instead of throwing them away (though I have yet to run out of juice). I think I've purchased 10 of these and distributed them to friends.
By R - walker, hiker - random traveler from Hawaii on 03/15/2008 Pros: Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great little light. It's bright and easy to place where you can find it. The bracket lets you put it on a headband or packstrap webbing and you forget that it is even there until you need a little bit of light. I've had a red one for a couple of years and it has been attached to my Mountainsmith lumbar pack's shoulder straps through hikes, 25 hour plane trips (jammed under seats, running through airports, etc.,), daily trips to work and the in and out of the closet and hasn't popped loose yet. The mounting is low profile and isn't like having a small led that swings to and fro from where it is attached. It also allows a little bit of adjusting, via a ratchet like groove, so you point the light in a the direction you want. OR you can pop it off the mount in less time than it takes to reach in your pocket. More than bright enough to read a map or a book without having to turn on a big light and nicely discrete when not in use. It also has a flashing setting that is good for a marker.

It is also going to have battery life because it is LED. Good idea that should be copied.
