I haven't been able to use our "Knot-a-Collar" because of this problem. It's just a pain to always be worrying about the collar loosening, and not really know until it's too late.
A great specialty collar! One day she got the collar stuck on a fence and it loosened up and allowed her to pull her head out just as it was supposed to. Any other collar and she would have choked. The knots can sometimes catch in the hair if you're not being careful when tightening the collar. I consider this a specialty collar that I wouldn't recommend for everyday use, but it does have it's place.

Although they have regular collars with tags, I cannot crate them with those collars for fear of snagging & choking. However I needed a way to keep some form of ID on them. The knot a collar can hold a small plastic tag that won't get caught in the wires of the crate, but even if it did the collar would loosen and release my pups to safety. This is just what we needed. And they love the fit!

It doesn't mat down the fur, and the seperate D-ring and the tag key ring is great. Makes it easy to attach leashes quickly. (Although my dogs usually wear gentle leaders for walks)

If caught on something it would twist easy, cutting off the ability to breath, not come lose and choke your dog. It would be good to keep on hand to throw on a dog for temporary use because it adjust easy. Would not recommend leaving on any dog.

This is not a big deal because as large as it gets is perfect for my dog. Measure down where the dog will wear the collar not behind the head or you maybe surprised. I use it to keep tags on my old dog and for that it works great but i would not like to use it for much else because of the adjusting issue.

The last collar I had was very noticable around my dogs neck and matted down the hair in this area. This one doesn't do that. It is small, however, so although my dog is realatively large and the collar can expand to fit him I don't know that I would want to attach a leash to it as it might be uncomfortable for him, but my leash doesn't need a collar so it works great.

This collar fits well, is light in weight and has no sharp edges to irritate. She loves it! What more could you want for your best pal?
