By cielo from Florida on 12/11/2007 Pros: Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Cons: Trouble with locking Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: loved these poles overall. I did have a problem unlocking one of them after use; not a big deal, since they are easy to store even if not fully collapsed. Can't complain about the weight and the cork grips are super comfortable, even after several long days in a row.
By hujambo from SC on 12/10/2007 Pros: Comfortable in the hand, Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The poles work great for my purposes...moderate hiking and saving my knees going downhill. I haven't tried them as a pair, but they seem light and strong enough to do the job. I can't see any advantage in specialty store poles at twice the price.
By Gen from Redmond ,WA on 11/28/2007 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm elderly and these poles make taking trips entirely possible. I recommend them for stability and balance. They work well on cobblestones and steps.
Caution: Thin Section is fragile By Norm_Nav from W'Boro SC on 09/24/2007 Cons: Thin Telescope broke Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I loaned one pole to a friend, crossing a dry bed in Bryce Canyon he put alot of weight on the pole and the small section broke off at the feril. I think he didn't have the pole extended properly,, the middle section is stronger so you will want to extend it furthermost, then have the thinest section extended to a lesser extent. When hiking the "Narrows" at Zion Canyon, I saw another broken section from a like set of Komperdell trekking poles,, someone else had learned the lesson the hard way.
By DenverJenn from Denver, CO on 09/11/2007 Pros: Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight, Lower cost, performs well Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Although these were lower cost than others, I have found them to be just as good as the more expensive pair I own, the pair that no longer telescopes. :)
