By Trekking Granny from Southern MN on 04/13/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shock-absorbing poles with cork handles are perfect for me. I had Komperdell poles without the shock absorbers that served me well but I wanted to cushion the blow to my shoulders, elbows and wrists so upgraded and found a new home for the old poles. These hold their length better (no gradual shrinking while hiking) and I'm very happy with them. Glacier Park, here I come!
By MamaBear from Richmond, Va. on 04/01/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my first time with trekking poles. I use one everyday when I hike with the dogs. Good stabilizer for what we do, stream beds, and gently rolling hills. Love the cork grips and molding to the palm. The real mountain climbers and long distance hikers might need something different, I don't know, but these are perfect for me.

You pay for what you get! By Backcountry Hunter from Salt Lake City, UT on 03/03/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Lightweight Cons: Broke easilly, Collapses Too Easily Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use my poles at least once or twice a week. They are good poles. However things need to be inproved on their threaded posts. The second time out the 14mm threaded post broke leaving me hanging. If you buy these poles plan on also purchasing the duo lock mechanism by Komperdell. They are not all plastic(much more secure). They no longer collapes unexpectedly and I have not broken one yet. I do recomend the poles for the money, but plan on upgrading parts.

Great poles for balance. Was able to put almost my full weight on them during difficult river crossings

Cork Grips are too Fragile! By wvrich from Charleston, WV on 02/28/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The poles seems ok and are lightweight. The problem is the cork grips (which seem comfortable) are very fragile because the wrist strap assembly is imbedded in the cork and it weakens it. I broke the cork top right off just by adjusting the straps! I sent them back and am looking for a non-cork replacement.
By Miggie from Arlington, VA on 02/17/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The instructions could be clearer -- once I figured out to twist the pole and not the rubber sleeve to lock the poles, they couldn't be easier to adjust.
