All I expected and then some By Old FL hiker from Tampa, FL on 10/31/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First time buyer/user of poles with nothing to compare to. Bought them looking for stability on the trail. Not at all a burden to have along. Did everything I expected and needed with comfort. So lightweight and easy to adjust to. Couldn't ask for anything better. And the price was great. What a bargain!
By strider from Sonoma County, CA on 10/28/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great inexpensive poles. The grip is comfortable and the poles are lightweight and compact when collapsed. The straps keep loosening up on their own, but this isn't much of an issue for me.

Really helpful for rocky terrain By Happy Hiker from Richmond, VA on 10/06/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I never used poles before and didn't think I'd like them. I was going on a 12 day hike in a very rocky, mountainous area and hiking poles were required. These poles did everything they were advertised to do: easy to adjust, light weight, sturdy. The cork handles were comfortable and the straps easily adjustable. I never thought I'd say this but I really liked them. These poles are well worth their price.
Basic Poles at a Great Price By Ken from Burien, WA on 10/03/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair of Komperdell's basic trekking poles. My first pair lasted 10 years, until I fell and broke one. I like the basic, non-shock-absorbing poles, and I prefer the cork grips. So I bought an identical pair to replace my broken ones. You can't beat the price either.
By naturegirl from Sandpoint ID on 09/25/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got these after a friend pointed out they're a big help for knee problems on mountain hikes. Wanted to get the flip-lock type, but couldn't pass up the great sale price on my budget. Have used them twice (once for an overnight backpack), and found them easy to adjust, perfectly stable, and a great help pulling myself up the last mile! Even used one to save a drowning dragonfly in the lake. Excellent purchase.
They Seem to Be Suitable for My Use By byenthanx from houston, TX on 09/15/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I don't know anything about trekking poles; I bought these because of my arthritis (knees) and because I saw some others advertised for that purpose. They seem to work well; I picked the ones with the fewest complaints (most had quite a few complaints)and the most positive comments on the Sierra site.
Great product...survived difficult trip! Telescoping Out of Control By Basque2e from Denver, CO on 09/05/2009 Pros: Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight Cons: Brittle, Collapses Too Easily Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am slow to understand most mechanical things so I found these predictably difficult to adjust. I never could figure out how to get the things to stop collapsing when I leaned more of my weight on them. I did have much less knee pain going downhill.
By FemBikeRider from Atlanta, GA on 09/02/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Cons: One stick came apart Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Recently used sticks hiking at Stone Mtn, Ga. Light weight, comfortable grips and strong, a hiking buddy has knee problems so I lended it to her - she loved it. When the hike was complete I experienced difficulty retracting the stick, I unscrewed it apart (accidentally) then screwed it back on- issue solved, I don't anticipate further difficulty.
