By Mainer from Maine on 11/17/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fits great, looks great. I haven't had a chance to see how warm or durable it is, because I have only had it for a few weeks, and it hasn't been very cold yet. I plan to use it as an outer layer, so the wind stopping qualities will be key. But it feels like a quality product. We shall see.
Good for someone who downhill skis By Suzy snowbird from Midwest on 11/12/2009 Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If you order these, remember that they are European sizing. I'm usually a size 0 or 2 petite and the size 6 fit OK, just a bit big. The fabric was the main thing that turned me off with these. I needed a pair of warm wool or microfleece pants to wear during my long walks in the winter time in Wisconsin snow. These are stiff, kind of like upholstery material? I had to send them back because the price, even on sale and clearance, was too much considering they were not what I wanted. I'm sure they'd be much better suited to downhill skiing (not cross country) or snowmobiling, perhaps.
Looks good but doesn't function By explorer3334 from Virginia on 11/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight Cons: Poor Design, Poor Fit, Poor quality Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket looks great but its performance does not measure up. The biggest issue I had was with the fabric. Although it is a nice tough ripstop material, it has no stretch. Combined with a trim fit, this lack of stretch severely inhibits mobility. The jacket binds across the shoulders, the sleeves ride up your arms, and the torso rides up your ribs with any sort of motion typical of climbing, skiing, or just backpacking. My other complaint about this jacket was with the exceptionally high collar. It stands about twice the height of something like a TNF Apex Bionic jacket. I appreciate having a stand-up collar but this one is just too high. Finally, whoever designed the sleeve ends needs to be fired. The cuffs use a very odd elastic cinching...odd because only part of the cuff is elastic and that part uses what seems to be shock cord or something. The cuff never seals around the wrist, and the elastic shifts. This jacket is being returned immediately.
By Steve from Grand Rapids, MI on 11/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this jacket for my 14 year old son and he loves it. The xs is a perfect fit for him. It is lightweight, but with the windstopper membrane it is also warm for its weight. He wears this jacket everywhere. I will be purchasing another one for my 12 year old son as well.
By Carousel from Boston, MA on 11/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a really nice jacket but it did not fit well. It fit snug through the hip but fit well in the shoulders. If I got a larger size to fit my hips the shoulders would have been too big. It's too bad because I really liked the jacket.
By Bowee072 from Helsinki, Finland on 10/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great quality Gortex ski/snow pants for the money. Sizing is way off though. Order a size down or you'll have to return it, unless you're in denial about your actual size. Looks durable with lots of great features. Hard to beat for the price.
By U.P. Outdoors family from Iron Mountain, MI on 10/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for my 14 year old son. He loves it, wears it to school, football games, etc. We live in Michigan's UP and the Fall has been very cool. It has been the perfect fall jacket and should work well for spring skiing as well.
By sunny girl from Colorado Rockies on 10/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been looking for a windblock fleece that wasn't super high-tech looking so I could wear it around town and to kid soccer games. This is perfect for that. It does an excellent job blocking the wind. It's "warm" like it says in the description because it blocks the wind and that always warms you up, but be warned it's not a warm, heavy, cozy fleece. It's thin but it's a nice, casual easy fit so I just wear a fleece under it.
