By Dolph from Hocking Hills Region, Ohio on 11/09/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a great respect for well made Hiking/Trekking Boots especially those from Italy. I feel they are the best made . I am a collector with over 75 pairs of boots and eventhough Osteo Arthritis keeps me off the trails I now wear my boots as everyday footwear. Scarpas are so comfortable (I have 6 pairs) they make rugged, safe , and good looking footwear.
By ricvic321 from Springfield, IL on 10/21/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Non-slip sole, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seem to be really good shoes, feel great under foot, but simply too narrow to wear on a hike. I wonder in hindsight if the prevalence of small sizes (40 and under) means that these are built on a women's or youth last, which would explain the narrow toe box. Will certainly try Scarpa again, but am returning these.

A Great Pair of Boots (and my favorite) By Chris / bicyclist from Staten Island on 09/27/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these once before and upon wearing them for 2 days wished that I had bought more. Alas, there were no more available. I have been wearing them everywhere, on an almost daily basis. The leather and workmanship is first-rate. The materials cannot be beat. By the way, I am a leatherworker and appreciate fine leather. The sole and treadlife on these boots is superb!
In addition, I like the strong support, which is what I need. You will get years of life out of these!
I never regretted buying them as they are probably the best hiking boots I ever bought. I have recommended them numerous times.

Best made shoes I've seen in years By Mark from Boulder, CO on 09/12/2007 Pros: Extremely well made, Rugged Best Uses: Long approaches Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are not disposal shoes. Not the tennis type shoe which will fall apart in a couple of months. Made in Italy. Will probably last a lifetime. These remind me of handmade Swiss boots I used to buy. A little heavy for short approaches or carrying on your harness on delicate climbs, but great for everything else. Great foot protection. I bought three pairs!
By ccbikeski from cloquet, mn on 09/11/2007 Best Uses: Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Too bad they don't make this shoe anymore, or the Zodiac. Scarpa virtually invented the approach shoe, and these are the best they made. A little odd looking, but if they fit, THEY FIT. These are by far the most dependable, best fitting, comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Tough as nails, and up to the job. Any other cliche's to throw in? Not really, but Scarpa needs to make this kind of shoe again.
By newriver from New River, AZ on 09/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a low hiker that waws comfy yet would be stiff enough so I would not feel the rocks undewr my feet.
i live in Arizona and most of my walking is thru dry, rocky desert terrain. I normally wear something with a little more ankle support, but for short walks where I know where I am going these work great. I am a Scarpa lover and have 3 other pairs of them, all have been great.
