By Christine from California on 08/27/2009 Cons: Difficult Entry/Exit, Uncomfortable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are well-made and beautiful. HOWEVER--they are almost impossible put on, too narrow, and at least 1/2 size too small.
By Tara from NY, LI on 08/02/2009 Best Uses: Going Out, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are well made, high quality shoes. They look better than on the picture. The leather is soft, and sustantial, and they are comfortable enough for long walks. They look good with jeans. The small wedge heel is perfect for a little lift without affecting comfort of walking.
By Anon from Wash DC on 07/31/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Cute, Durable, Stable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are awesome. Very well made. Nice shearling inside - not as thick as Ugg, but pretty good. They are very good looking boots - so i feel confident i can walk the dog and go to the office in these. They feel light - I have several Canadienne boots and they are all waterproof and light. I ordered a 9M and it was very roomy - but once i get insoles in there, that wont be an issue. I have low arches, so i have orthtic arch inserts in all my boots. In this case, since there is enough room, i am planning to put in an Ugg shearling insole and arch support under it. That way I can get that Ugg shearling-all-over comfort, along with enough footbed support to walk miles and miles, in this pair of very stylish, waterproof and practical boots.
By Anon from Wash DC on 07/31/2009 Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are well made, waterproof winter boots. Very roomy too - I ordered 9 M and have several other Canadienne boots in the same size - this is not one of those narriow models. But I returned them for two reasons . One, the way it zipped up at the top of my ankle felt kinda tight - as if a smaller ankle or calf would have fit better. Second, I ordered this in wine smooth color and the color looked more casual in person than the photos. So i was not crazy about the color.
By gardenqueen from Lafayette, CO on 07/28/2009 Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I realize that we often have one foot bigger than the other but I've never had the right shoe fit so tightly than the left. It didn't feel like it would "break-in" quickly. I'm returning them.
By codeswitch from Ann Arbor on 07/02/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Trendy Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had a little trouble sizing these. I don't think previous reviews recommending a half-size larger were helpful.
By cate from Michigan on 06/24/2009 Cons: Too Stiff, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are very cute but way too tight in the ankle. I was so disappointed, but I had to return them because there was absolutely no way I could wear them. My feet and ankles are pretty narrow, and I have never had this problem before. Also, my boots arrived in a different brand label box. Weird.
La Canadienne Value Boots By Sociology Scholar from Upstate NY on 06/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy To Clean, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a narrow foot, and both 7 and 7/12 fit fine - not a lot of difference between the two sizes. If you have a wide foot, I would order up a half size. These boots are extremely comfortable and nice looking. I ordered two additional pairs, after falling in love with the first one.
By v70t5m from north of antarctica on 05/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: While these looked as cute as could be, I just barely got them zipped. Walking in these was out of the question, I could not move my ankle at all!
I have a small boned frame and wear a size 10.
Unless you are incredibly tiny boned, don't bother with these. You will have to return them as I did.
By O's Mom from Philadelphia, PA on 04/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cute, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love these boots! They are handsome and stylish and comfortable like all La Canadienne (although this is only my 2nd pair). The brown is quite nice - wish they had them in black too - I would've ordered a 2nd pair!
