By Caroline from Chicago, IL on 11/10/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In a town like Chicago, you need a good hat which means one that is warm, comfy and covers your ears. This one is warm--thick, chunky wool--but comfy, with fleece lining on the inside. It's easy to pull on, with ear flaps for warmth, but without those dorky strings that tie under your chin or pompoms on the top like most in this style. And it's comes in great color combinations so you can wear it with your work coat, your weekend coat, whatever. Only down side is that it's kind of hard to figure out which why to pull it on. The tag actually goes in front.

Great hat, but not really a beanie. By Hoodie McSweatervest from Maine on 10/30/2008 Pros: Breathable, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfort-oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this to wear on a lobster boat this winter. I like the ear flaps, as they haven't any attached pompoms or strings which might be a safety issue. The wool is warm and rugged-feeling, without being too itchy & rough. The fleece liner is cozy, and since the hat is lined only around the ears there is some breathing room - I think it would be somewhat stifling if fully lined. I was hoping it would be a bit of a smaller fit, as it's listed as a "beanie"; if I pull it down to fit my skull nicely, the front is over my eyes! I like a snug fit, so I end up with a little weird tuck/roll at the back. That's what puts it at 4 stars for me. On the other hand, similar hats give me the same problem. I am a small-boned person with a small head. I just hoped the beanie would fit better. Bottom line: it's a cute yet tough little hat, and lobstering is certainly no beauty contest anyway! I'm keeping it.
