It does run small, fitting me snugly, and I have a small head as far as adult head sizes go :)

Stylish design with maximum warmth! By Sarah from Minneapolis, Minnesota on 12/20/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Fushia is great color, Soft earband is terrrific, Stylish, Top quality Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting, For winters-everyday Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfort-oriented, Love wool for winter, Stylish, Wear natural fibers Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The first day I wore my new wool hat I received several compliments. The initial one was in the parking lot at school where I work. The woman loved the bright color. (I wear a charcoal grey wool coat so the fushia hat highlighted my attire.) That afternoon, when I parked at a neighborhood co-op, I received my second compliment from someone I know. Later at the checkout counter another woman said: "Is your hat warm? Is it all wool? . . . Can I feel it?" Of course I took it off and handed it to her. She was surprised to see the soft earband. I told her: "It's a terrific hat for the money. It brightens my spirit--I love it!"
By creekwater from va mountains on 12/08/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, outside cold Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfort-oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the drawstring that allows a snug fit or even loose enough to go over a headband.
By Marximus from Bellingham, WA on 12/05/2007 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Practical Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This beanie is good if you want to fit it under a helmet; it's lightweight, extremely packable (smaller than my fist), and warm. But it's pretty thin, even though it's abrasion- and wind-resistant, and I guess I've got a bit of a big head; it was a bit too small, and it left a line on my forehead after wearing it. So if you've got a smallish head, it's great. Bigger noggined ones: caveat emptor.
