By Sylvan Laker from Alberta, Canada on 08/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: always fit size 9 so followed instructions and sized down - but size is still off. And worse yet, the shoe makes your feet look huge.

Shred the trail in any weather By A outdoors from El paso, TX on 08/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall a great product. The rand is pretty tough, the shoe is comfy for those long hikes and all day backpacking. I think I could have ordered a 6 instead of a 6.5 (my fault not product), but kept my feet comfy and dry in British columbia without blisters or "hot spots". Nice support on downhill too.

By CIG from Madison, WI on 07/17/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Long Break-in, Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They are a little stiff to start with, but they are starting to break in with a few miles on them. They appear really well made and they should last a really long time. No rubbing or hot spots, so the fit is really good. No shifting around in the heel or toe. My past hikers always had these issues.
By lovemybike from SD on 07/15/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Describe Yourself: Outdoor girl, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is a nice shoe except it is too long for me. I wear a size 8 in a Keen and Merrill,so I ordered a size 6 after reading reviews. It is still too long and I wish I wish I had ordered a size 5. It is also more narrow in the front. So I can't give it to my wider foot friend and have to return. It does have a great arch support. Unable to give a more extensive review as to the uses...couldn't take them outside.
excellent sole, mighty toecap By Evan from Denver, CO on 07/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Water Resistant Cons: Early fraying around cuff Best Uses: Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels full size too big, Feels too large Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The primary reason I'm giving this a 4-star and not a 5-star rating is that they run very large. Zamberlan apparently translates US 12 as Euro 47. I typically wear US 12 or Euro 45, so when I ordered a 12 and got a 47 I was surprised. Swapping for the "11.5"/46 is better and the boot seems to mold pretty quickly and pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised to find them pretty set to go out of the box -- almost no break-in required. After two very rugged days on Colorado 14ers, I've been wowed by the sticky and rugged soles, especially given that the boot does not feel at all heavy. But I am a little disappointed to see some frayed stiching around the (rather beefy) cuffs already.
