By Katt from Yakima, WA on 07/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Since I'm planning on going on a backpacking trip the end of August and didn't have hiking shoes, I thought I should get some in time to break them in. The first time I wore these on a 4 mile walk, they felt great. They give good support and the Dijon mustard color doesn't make them look too utilitarian!

I ordered per instructions on the website for size. They were way too small. my toes were touching the end. Returned, and didn't reorder because they also seemed narrow and my feet are wide.

By TJ from Boulder, CO on 06/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First I should qualify my comments. I have hiked and run trails for years, all over the world and have only worn running shoes. I find hiking boots uncomfortable and trail running shoes no different than my normal running shoes. I just thought after reading others comments that I would give this shoe a try.
I thought when I first saw the shoe that it would not be wide enough for my feet but when I put them on the toe box was really roomy & comfortable. At first try I also had the feeling the shoes side walls were too high around the ankle bone. During the first day of break this loosened up within the first 3-4 hours. Now after one day hike (running the downhills) and one backpacking trip (with 60 lb pack) I will say that these shoes really are stable and comfortable. Although they are a bit heavy compared to running shoes, the stiff sole is great on the rocky trails and the waterproof attribute kept my feet nice & dry while slogging through mud and making stream crossings.
By Spider from Boston, MA on 06/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these as my everyday sneakers. I've had great experiences with Zamberlans in the past and I'm pleased to say that the quality of the company continues. Zamberlans are always a little stiff to start, but after the first day, they have been totally comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this shoe to anyone.
By exagorazo from Eau Claire, WI on 06/17/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Comfortable, Well fitting comfortable Cons: Full front lace tedious Best Uses: Everyday wear, Pavement, Walking, Waterproof a nice plus Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like the fit and function of Zamberlan shoes. Haven't been disappointed with them yet!
It's true. These shoes are built for men By Elge from Redding, CT on 06/05/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If my foot were wider and heavier, these may have worked, but there was way too much room in this shoe, even with a thick sock. I believe these were designed to be unisex (men's and ladies sizing on the box), but should not be marketed for the average woman's foot. I can see that they'd have good traction for hiking rough trails, but runners they are not. I prefer a lighter, leaner shoe for everyday trail running/walking.
