By JD from California on 02/09/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Durable, Flexible, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great Day Walkers for Dirt or Pavement. I prefer a higher ankle for rougher trails and off trail, but for well groomed trails and pavement these are very comfortable.
Great! Be sure to check sizing reviews. By Atown from Appleton, WI on 02/09/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Durable, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I normally wear size 9. I ordered size 7 and they fit very well. I've only worn them a couple times, but they seem to have great support in rigid conditions. Also great for transition weather.
HARD TO FIT GIRL FINDS SUCCESS! By Hard to Fit Adventurer from Sparks, NV on 02/03/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Price, Great Traction, Protective, Supportive, Water Resistant Cons: Needs to be broken in, Pessure Points Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's hard for me to find hiking boots that offer great protection with a good fit. I normally wear an 8.5 but ordered an 8 because I was told that they run about a 1/2 size large and it's true for me.
These did the job; they protect my feet even on the rockiest terrain.
There was a pressure point on my left small toe that made it so sore that I almost returned these boots.
Out of desperation (because I am so hard to fit and everything else including the width was perfect,) I decided to keep them and try to work through it. I am soo glad that I did! It took about a month and a half but now they are perfect! (Thus the 4 star rating.)
I wore them on my first short (about 2 hours) rocky hike yesterday and experienced no pain whatsoever. They protected my feet so well that I felt nothing beneath them. My ankles were a bit unstable but it's been a while since I hiked so I think that it was more that than the boots.
I'm so happy that I found this brand of boots because after many years of trying various brands, these fit my feet the best. Breaking them in was definitely worth it for me.
I'm an avid cyclist so I use them for that too particularly on frigid days and they keep my feet warm and cozy without being sweaty afterward. I really love that they are waterproof but breathable too.
If you buy these boots and find a hot spot or two, I recommend giving yourself the opportunity to break them in. I'm confident that it will be well worth it!

The laces tend to untie often and there was a long breakin time. However, they are great, especially for the $ Recommend them highly.
