Lightweight, good for thin liner By LizardRanch from Salt Lake City, UT on 11/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Inadequate Protection Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The vest is very thin with no pockets. The zipper is the larger style with teeth rather than the smaller coil style. This made it exactly what I wanted, a jacket liner for when a regular thickness pile vest was too hot. The larger style zipper made it possible to zip into my shells that had liner zippers. As a standalone vest it is too thin, but for my use as a thinner liner it was perfect.

OK at the Barnburner price only By SJG from NY, NY on 11/14/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Just not cut right. Very close cut at the waist. This would be fine for layering applications. But the neck is incredibly large. Zip it all the way up and the collar is open very wide around the neck. You could not zip a shell all the way up outside on top of this because the collar is just too big.

I've owned both brands, and the jacket is just as comfortable and waterproof.

By larry larue from Durham, NC on 11/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Vest is very soft and comfy with a warm, big, and thick collar. The rest, however, is thinner than expected and not terribly warm on its own. The thinness makes it a great midlayer and good for running, though. Was disappointed in the lack of ANY pockets.
