Knowing it's there will give peace of mind, though.

Great First Aid/Gear Aid Kit! By Backpacks with dogs from North Carolina on 05/12/2009 Pros: Easy To Use, Effective, Safe Best Uses: Emergency Preparedness, Keep In The Trunk, Outdoor Activities, Quick Fix Describe Yourself: CPR Trained, Medical Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I first saw this kit at a high end outdoor supplies store. The price tag turned me off. So when I saw it here for much cheaper I had to snag one. It's got a little bit of everything and comes with two simple guides. The supplies are organized with first aid on one side and gear aid on the other side. Everything is nicely organized. The bag itself is quite durable. This kit was clearly well thought out with the backpacker in mind. Love it!

There's enough room in the bag to add a few more items, including water cleansing pills, Immodium, antacids, etc.

By bkwknits from seattle, wa on 05/06/2009 Pros: Great tweezers, Light-weight, Small, Very basic supplies Cons: Not for extended trips Best Uses: Around town, Short hikes Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great for taking on small Girl Scout outings with my troop.
By Steve from Neenah WI on 04/30/2009 Pros: Easy To Use, Effective, Promotes Healing, Safe Best Uses: Emergency Preparedness, Keep In The Trunk, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Medical Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall it's a decent kit. Yes, most of the meds were expired, but that shouldn't be too surprising. I augmented the kit with additional wound care items (additional obs sites, steri-strips, etc) and a Sam splint would be very nice. But the price is good considering everything that is included and it's convenient for a base camp, car, boat, etc
Great for littler campers, with mods By jwelkin from Lago Vista TX on 04/28/2009 Pros: Just right for kids, Relatively well stocked, Small enough to carry Best Uses: To outfit my Girl Scouts Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a small kit, small enough for kids to carry and cool enough for them to want to carry it, and this fills the bill. (I took out all meds except the diphenhydramine, since it is carried by second-graders, and closely instructed them not to take that unless OKd by an adult.) The tweezers and bandages got hard use from the git-go, and the kits were easy to access for little fingers.
