By peerzat from minneapolis, mn on 02/03/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Flexible, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: perfect for the casual runner, grass or pavement. I ordered 1 size too big as per previous folks who rated these shoes and it worked out perfect. I'm usually a 9.5, ordered a 10.5 and sure enough, they fit perfectly.
Always have a pair of these at home. By Karhu lover from UK on 12/08/2008 Pros: Breathable, Classic, Comfortable, Lightweight, Look Cool, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Walking Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fantastic trainers, excellent overall quality with a classic, slightly 'retro' look. Very comfortable. Wish they never stop making them.
By Fake Norwegian from Los Angeles on 11/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stable, Versatile Best Uses: Pavement, Running Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I train 3-4 times a week with my trainer very intensely. We do a lot of balance training and movement. After trying the Karhu shoes I am convinced there is no better shoe for stability/balance. I'm off the major brands for good. Tried on my old shoes and felt like I was standing on a platform. Karhu is like an extension of your own foot. BUY A FULL SIZE LARGER. I DID AND THEY FIT ME PERFECTLY.
By MigoMigo from Raleigh, NC on 11/10/2008 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flexible, Lighweight, Stable Best Uses: Endurance Training, Foot Ailments, Pavement, Running Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: No frills shoe that supposedly helps to put your foot in the correct anatomic gait...I'm not sure if that's the case, but they're very lightweight, comfortable and cool looking, and after running in them for about a month, I feel stronger and have no nagging aches or injuries.
By Coach from Elsah, IL on 11/08/2008 Pros: Good transition, Nice and firm, Quiet Cons: First pair came unglued, Not made in Europe Best Uses: Endurance Training, Running, Trails Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was happy to find Karhus after a 30 year (no lie) absence. A little disappointed to find they are indeed made in China like every other shoe. Smooth ride, though, efficient shoe.
By A Slow Marathoner from Texas on 11/07/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stable Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like these. For the sale price, can't beat them. Normally I prefer a less substantial shoe, and they do run a little small, so I usually don't wear these for any runs longer than 10 miles or so. (However, if I went up a half size I wouldn't hesitate to use them for most any distance.) The toe box is a little narrow, but I don't feel the rest of the shoe is particularly tight.
I would buy this product again. I also use them just to wear as regular shoes.

By Rob from Motueka, New Zealand. on 10/18/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Versatile Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear Asics size 10 and found the Karhu 10.5 to be similar, albeit a wee bit narrower. The Karhu M1s look rather old fashioned alongside my Asics Kayanos, however their performance is equally good on pavement and maybe they are a bit more stable on trails. [...]
