More subtle looking in person. By cheese head from Kansas City on 11/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was a little apprehensive to order these. The pictures sort of made them look like bowling shoes, but I was pleasantly surprised how subtle they look in person. Nice approach shoe. Comfortable out of the box although the sole is a little stiff. Fit is more like a hiking boot. I generally wear size 9 but with Asolo I go with 8.5.
Asolo's seem to run 1/2 size large. I'm hooked on the high quality of Asolo.

By Anonymous from NoVA on 11/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these to replace a pair of the FSN 85 (non-Gore-tex) Asolos. The previous pair lasted me over two years, including 6 months of wearing every other day, and I expect these to perform the same. The only drawback is they are definitely warm, maybe too much so for warm-ish days.
Looking forward to using them on a trek By Monk from Bellmere Australia on 11/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots will be used for treks.
Have had a three hour hike in them I feel they are a half size too small, if they were correct I think they would have a very quick breakin time, and be very comfortable.
The laces are a bit tricky to do up.

Originally ordered size 12 Medium which is my usual size but they were a little too tight, I returned them and ordered 12 Wide and they feel perfect. Most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They are a tiny bit stiff but not very so I know they will break in quickly.
I am planning to hike the Appalacian Trail here in New Hampshire in the spring and I have every confidence that these boots will perform well.
