Flow

Flow

Flow may be a snowboarding brand now, but the company was started in 1992 by two windsurfing equipment designers. Flow’s founders wanted to create a snowboard binding that was more convenient than a strap-in binding and more comfortable than a step-in-something with a more "barefoot feel." Within a few short years, Flow snowboard bindings and Flow snowboard boots were being used by avid riders all over the world. The patented Flow Power Triangle is what sets a Flow binding apart from the rest. A high tensile steel cable connects the hiback to the base-plate, forming a triangle. This configuration enhances energy transmission and snowboard feel, resulting in a more responsive ride. Flow snowboard bindings also provide faster entry and exit than traditional strap-in bindings, so you can get around the mountain faster than ever.

Overall I am happy with bindings. Compared to my old ratchet style bindings they are easier to use. They can be difficult to enter if not on flat ground.

Not enough snow down under to use them yet! But we were absolutely stoked with the speedy delivery. Goods were well packaged and Sierra were a breeze to deal with. The product instructions were good. A dry run on the living room floor showed the "step-in" capability works well.

My husband is a hard core skier but he said he would try snowboarding once again JUST BECAUSE OF THESE BINDINGS!!! (He tried once before and didn't care for it.) Now I can ride with him and know I won't slow him down (or anyone else behind me for that matter!).

Stats: 6'2" 200# - been riding ~10 years - Bindings- K2 Clicker Highbacks Bought this and rode 1 day Vail, 1 day Breckenridge, 1 day Keystone. Spent one day at Wintergreen Va. I have a 163 Canyon (2001) that I'm comparing this board to. If you held the two boards up against one another they look almost identical in terms of width, sidecut etc. The ride is vastly different. The flow has a very harsh ride. It doesn't seem to absorb shock at all - it transfers it directly to rider. This was manageable out west with decent snow. In the east, on boilerplate ice it was horrible. It's a difficult board to transition (Linking turns/carving/switching edges). Seems like the back end always wants to kick out and it takes a strong back leg to control that. Overall - I'm not impressed with this board and would not recommend it.
