By Mujibyepi from Portland, OR on 06/30/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall, these seem to be great poles at a great price. I really like the feel of them - seem to really feel nice in your hand, plus the anti-shock is great. Very light-weight and easy to adjust. Also, I like the straps. Excellent value. My only concern is the durability of the cork grip. The grips on each pole are two halves glued together around the top of the pole - you can see the seam in them. I had to return one pair after first use for replacement because the grip seemed to be coming apart at the seams (Sierra Trading Post is always fantastic on backing up their stuff!). I just took the new pair out and seems fine, but we'll see in the long run. The grips do feel really good, and hopefully the first problem was just a fluke.
really nice walking stick By i hike 1957 from florida on 06/30/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Good grips, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Every Day Walking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i love this stick. the grip is wonderful however it is too heavy. i will use it for my backpacking trips as the grip comfort outweighs the wght issue. i do think in rough terrain i will still use my traditional grip pole esp. in water crossings, loose footing and snow

Very good for the price range By Shtinkypuppie from Torrance, CA on 06/28/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Lightweight, Strong Cons: Caused blisters, Rough Straps Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are pretty good poles considering the low price. The straps are a bit rough and blistered a little on the first trip; I got a pair of glove liners and haven't had any trouble since. If you insist on hiking bare-handed you might go upmarket for a more comforable strap, but otherwise these are a good value.

By Blue Mountain Girl from Pacific Northwest on 06/24/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Flexible, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these for my mom who is feeling a little unstable on her feet. She is thrilled with them. I do wish I had purchased little rubber caps for the tips, as they are sharp and scratch the floors inside the house.
These make my knees happy! By Fifty-Something Jae from NEPA on 06/24/2009 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As a former runner whose knees are worn and torn, these poles seem to relieve a lot of the usual stress of uphill and downhill walking. Haven't timed myself yet, but I believe that I'm covering more ground in less time. Wish there'd been instructions as to proper length, etc., and I'm looking for the protective tips, but overall, I am pleased with this product.
