5 Stars for Assos and 0 for SierraTradin By Skywalker from Pleasant Hill, CA on 10/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Jersey fits tighter than most jerseys (i.e. PI, Performance Bike brand) in Medium. Stay cool, dry quickly and very comfortable given the tight fit. Looks great as well... I also expected the zipper to hug the body a little more in riding position but no big deal for me once I ride... Pockets are nicely reenforced with one hole on right pocket for iPod... (for those that care). Is it worth the money? That's for each to decide but for me, I'm buying more Assos' products... but not from Sierra Trading Post (see more comments below).I gave Sierra Trading Post a ZERO rating because I just saw the same item on their sites and other sites for $30 less and they would not credit me for the price change. I just bought the item about two weeks ago !!! I don't think I have came across another retailer on-line that would not credit the difference... this is probably my last order with Sierra Trading Post...
Assos Quality is the Best! By Terry from Harbor Springs, Michigan on 09/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For the woman who wrote about the delicate wash try this: Put the jersey in a pillow case and safety pin it closed, wash regular, hang the jersey to dry. I've been wearing Assos clothing for years and do this every time I've worn mine. They wear like iron and I've had the jersey's and bib shorts for years and many cycling seasons. These are pricey but worth every penny.
Great fit, great brand...marginal zipper By DG from WI on 09/24/2009 Pros: Good Pockets and Features, Great Fit, Lightweight Cons: Marginal zipper quality Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Assos is highly regarded for their fit and fabrics, and this meets expectations in those regards however I was disappointed in the quality of the zipper. It snagged more than it should have for clothing of this quality so I chose to return the product. It's still a nice jersey, but for the price it needed to be a "5 out of 5" for me to keep it. Personally, I wouldn't use the cycling cap, but the pricing for the kit is still competitive. This fits "true to size", but this is relative to other European brand sizing. I normally would wear a medium in most US-brand sizing and an Assos large was still snug, but appropriate.
Excellent Deal on Assos Gear By Terry Newton from Harbor Springs, Michigan on 09/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Buy one size larger than you normally buy. The woman who bought for her husband and was disappointed that it is a hand wash or delicate care garment follow these directions. Place the jersey and socks in a pillow case and safety pin the bag shut. Wash on regular cycle and hang to dry. I've been doing this to my Assos bibs, jerseys and socks for years. I've worn Assos for 7 plus years and this works perfectly. This is a great deal for some of the best cycling gear out on the market today.
Mostly pro with only one con By Oversized biker from Guntersville AL on 09/10/2009 Pros: Easy to Use, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good product. The clamp-on handlebar adjustment is nice, you can easily adjust the tension. I did not like that you have to replace your rear wheel skewer with the one they provide. I have used other trainers that had a lug that adapted to most skewers. Feels stable under my 220 lbs. Other than that I like it. It folds for compact storage too.
Bought this for my husband By Dee from chaumont, ny on 08/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my husband and he says he loves it. However, when reading all the details after ordering...it needs delicate wash. It also has a very snug fit.
Assos Quality + nice package! By egen from burlington,vt on 08/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: All you have to do is get the sizing right. I normally wear a size medium in Pearl Izumi. For Assos I wear a size large. The fit and finish is smart and comfortable. You will only realize how well the fit is when you are on the bike in the cycling position.
