Alps Mountaineering

Dennis Brune started Alps Mountaineering in rural Missouri with one goal in mind: to offer performance-oriented outdoor gear at an affordable price. A truly homegrown business with a highly qualified staff, Alps Mountaineering listens to its consumers and designs accordingly, incorporating customer suggestions into their designs for packs, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear. All products are made of premium materials and tested in multiple outdoor environments—from the Grand Canyon to the Appalachian Trail—to assure that they are worthy of the company’s lifetime guarantee. Alps Mountaineering defines value not so much as "getting what you pay for" but "getting more than you pay for."

Large comfortable sleeping area.
By Mike from Birmingham, AL on 10/12/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy Set Up
Cons:
Bulky, Heavy
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments:
Very sturdy cot with a large area for rolling around. Not your typical camp cot. We have one under our bed for guests and will get another so we can easily sleep more at our house when needed. Great for trips when you want to make sure you will have a bed to sleep in no matter where you go.

I took my 80 year old parent's car camping and they loved the new air pad. Last time we went camping I had an air mattress which they did not find comfortable. The extra thick air pad was a big improvement for them.

Comments:
This pad is the best I have found for the oversized hiking/camping enthusiest. The size when rolled up is large but managable and the no-skid bottom and moisture barrier is great. It is worth the extra carry weight (8-lbs) for the size and comfort it provides.

This product was perfect for my Van/RV. After I sleep, I can roll it up and make room for storage of other items. The 3" thickness was very comfortable. Wish I could take it backpacking, but that is out of the question.

Large table that folds up reasonably well. I almost sent it back because I tried to install the table top going the wrong way.I thoight I had the wrong top. When put together, it should hold up well. Plan on using it to tailgate and car camp with.

Alps Mountaineering Pine Ridge Air Pad - Extra Long

Large, soft air pad
By Camping newbie from Indianapolis Indiana on 10/03/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy To Inflate
Cons:
Bulky Roll Up
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Weekend Trips
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I'm a camping newbie and was very concerned about having a comfortable night's sleep. This pad is not small, and it creates a large roll when rolled up. However, it is so comfortable and easy to inflate I consider it well worth the cost and space used to pack it along for car camping. It wouldn't be appropriate to carry hiking/camping but was very welcome on my recent weekend car camping trip.

Comments:
I am not sure why other reviews talk about difficultly using, or small parts. There is hardly anything to it. No assembly. Unfold legs, put on three cross pieces(they slide onto raised screw heads), and snap in two unrolled table top section. Easy.
