Alps Mountaineering

Dennis Brune started Alps Mountaineering in rural Missouri with one goal in mind: to offer performance-oriented outdoor gear at an affordable price. A truly homegrown business with a highly qualified staff, Alps Mountaineering listens to its consumers and designs accordingly, incorporating customer suggestions into their designs for packs, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear. All products are made of premium materials and tested in multiple outdoor environments—from the Grand Canyon to the Appalachian Trail—to assure that they are worthy of the company’s lifetime guarantee. Alps Mountaineering defines value not so much as "getting what you pay for" but "getting more than you pay for."

Nice chair! Easy to open/close. Have had another brand chair, that always pinches my fingers, as I struggle to open or close it. This one works nicely. Comfy fit, sturdy chair. Easy to carry around. Easy to pack in van. Very pleased with the quality! Have been on the road, since I got it. Just what I wanted!

Alps Mountaineering Air Pad - Pine Ridge, Regular

Great pad, not really self inflating

Cons:
Difficult To Inflate
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Weekend Trips
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments:
Excellent "self inflating" mattress for the price. It is long enough for me and I am 6'0, thought it is on the skinny side in comparision to a thermarest basecamp, etc. The mattress is great, it is just not terrific in the self inflating category, it usually only fills about 20-40% and I blow it up the rest of the way.

We haven't had the chance to really use, from the setup in our backyard, it seems simple enough. Not sure of all the features, again, haven't been able to use. Looks great, some features we had in prevous tent. I would like to rate at another time due to this.

replaced other 2 man (major retailer) back packing tent with this one. Major rainstorm failed to penetrate tent. Maybe concerned with all mesh body, and longevity, but for price and weight (under 5lbs), and decent headroom, we'll wait and find out...

Alps Mountaineering Camp Cot - Extra Large

You'd better have a BIG tent.
By I'm Just Sayin'... from L.A., CA on 09/11/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy Set Up
Best Uses:
Campgrounds, Road Trips, Winter Camping
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
We'll use this for car camping and for guests. Comfy enough -- for a cot, that is. It's easy to set up. Doesn't slope toward the center as much as some modern cots. Though I kinda wish it was more taut, as I suspect the fabric will stretch a little over time. At 86x40 (compared to a standard cot's 76x30) it's longer than a twin mattress and just as wide. If you're big/tall, you'll really appreciate the size. Me? Well my young son and our dog likes to curl up with me, so the extra width is appreciated. 'Course the cot is so tall, maybe the dog will just sleep under it. I'm just glad we have a huge tent.
