Gevril

A legend since 1758, the legacy of Gevril watches began when the king of Spain appointed Jacques Gevril the Royal Swiss Watchmaker to the Spanish Crown. Today, the Gevril watch company has been empowered with a mandate to create watches worthy of the Crown’s endorsement. Gevril is unique to the extent that its watches are not imitations of anything else, but pieces of fine art in the form of Gevril timepieces. The mark of Gevril’s promise is integrity in the materials, craftsmanship and design of every Gevril chronograph watch or stainless steel military watch. Gevril timepieces are sought by famous personalities in the fields of entertainment and professional sports who want the best in watch movement, style and resilience.

Comments:
Worn this watch daily for more than a year, making trains and planes on three continents. It gains 15 seconds a week, runs down if not wound after 35 hours. Band stretches to fit comfortably after a couple of days, then stops. Watch doesn't.

Comments:
At the price being offered this Gevril is a great bargain. This a man's watch, a little heavy, but I like that feel. The gray face and roman numerial hour display is very attractive. The only feature I wish were a little better would be a more solid band and not a linkage style--but this is just me being overly critical. I would definitely purchase this watch again.

Very nice watch. Band is like not even close to being long enough. I am large framed, but most bands fit fine on thier largest settings. Not even close here. Buyer beware. I returned item.

Comments:
After researching automatic watches, I stumbled across this one, and I couldn't be happier. This watch has an ETA 2824 movenent that I wanted, so I know that it will be reliable. The quality of this watch is absolutely top notch. It took me a minute to wind it and get it set, then adjust the band, and it has worked perfectly since.

It's what's inside that counts
By bmauersVerified Reviewer from Pittsburgh on 01/01/2008
Pros:
Good Quality, no battery, Stylish
Best Uses:
Everyday, Formal
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
It's a lot of money for a watch to be sure. However, the very same 2824 movement can be found in watches costing 2-5 times as much. As the other reviewer stated, this is not a quartz watch: it's not as accurate, costs more, and will stop if not wound daily. So why would anybody want one? Because it was made by the hands of a master craftsman with enough skill to cram a hundred tiny parts into a small case and create an elegant, functional work of art.

Made by Gevril, this stylish watch is really a steal. The beautifully crafted 'stadium' case is unique and really stands out. The Swiss ETA 2836 can alway be depended on for accuracy and reliability. The luminescent properties of the watch are also top-notch. Snap it up if it's still available as this is limited to 500 pieces.

Comments:
Very, very high quality for the price. First Generation's are rapidly disappearing from the marketplace. By the way...description should be corrected...this is an automatic (self-winding) watch. The word "quartz" is misleading. While very accurate, it is NOT quartz accurate, and it is not a quartz watch as stated previously.
