By txskier from El Paso on 11/16/2009 Pros: Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: cut for a larger person than I am (5'9" 180) so I returned it. Looks to be a quality product though.
By funjunkie from Bangor, Maine on 11/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are wonderful - great cut, nice style, wonderful fit. The fabric is heavier so if you are looking for an ultra-packable pant these might not be it. But the fabric seems very durable - great work pants and they are perfect for the fall/winter weather here in Maine. Also, Arc'teryx lined the waist with a super-soft fabric --nice for wearing a pack. My only small complaint is the length - they run very long. Try these!
By dog walker from Shoreline, WA on 11/15/2009 Pros: Big pockets, Comfortable, High neck zipper, Lightweight, Stylish, Tight windproof cuffs, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Windy weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great all around coat. It has room inside for layering.
By SST from Vancouver, WA on 11/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great upgrade to your general cotton hoody. As with most ArcTeryx, it is cut pretty short in the body, especially in front. Fit is definitely athletic. Sheds water quite well for a soft shell, but then again, it is new too. Nice for cooler, fall weather just over a long-sleeved t.
By Tennis Lady from Atlanta, GA on 11/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First, as others have said, size up one size. I did and they fit perfectly. Even the length, which I often have problems with, was perfect (I'm 5'6"). I thought they were going to be only useful for "outdoor" activities, but they're actually styled nicely enough to cross over for casual wear as well. And they're incredibly comfortable and slenderizing. I've had several comments asking me how much weight I've lost and it's the pants. Bought two colors - should buy more.
By Missoula Merino Man from Missoula, MT on 11/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Everyday, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, High-end shopper, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've got Merino stuff from all of the big sellers, I'm something of an addict. This is my first merino piece from Arcteryx and I must say I'm very impressed. Heavier than the 320 stuff I've got from Icebreaker but just as high quality.
By Adirondack Man from Montclair, NJ on 11/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In spite of the preceding comments I purchased the Trident Hoodie (hate that term--"hoodie")and am quite pleased. I'm not sure why previous commentors had problems with this jacket (e.g. not waterproof or not enough features) given the description was dead-on target. It's a minimalist mid-layer jacket with a structured hood. Awesome! That's exactly what I was looking to buy. So let me tell you a couple of things...first, if you like a little more room (I'm normally a large) order the XL (as I did)--it makes it possible to wear additional layers underneath and extend its temp range; second, if you haven't owned anything from Arc'Teryx then you're in for a treat--this jacket performs quite well and the features it boasts come through in spades. This jacket is for active people doing active things. If you're hoping to stand around in the blowing, frigid cold with wind driven rain blowing sideways hoping this jacket will protect you then you're not too bright! That's NOT what it was designed to do. This jacket is an excellent mid-layer (lightweight) for when it's really cold and you're wearing a heavier waterproof/windproof shell over it, an excellent means for protecting yourself when doing aerobic activities in cool/dry conditions and an awesome lightweight jacket around town. There you have it. Know what you're buying before you buy it and then you won't find yourself complaining about what it "doesn't" do. I am definitely recommending this to my "outdoor loving" friends.
Great pants for an unbelievable price! By ladydy from Flagstaff, AZ on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You just don't find Arc'Teryx pants for this price! When purchasing this brand, you know material and construction are about as good as you can get. These pants are canvas pants, very comfy and sit just below waist. Very stylish. I did order 1 size larger and they fit perfectly. Because of the color though, you really can't take these camping or backpacking. I'm thrilled with this purchase, knowing they will last for a long, long time.
