By runner from jersey city, nj on 06/01/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great jacket even as non-skier. The description didn't mention that the jacket is a skier item - I would have taken it anyway.
Good alternative to Down but odd sizes By DMD from Washington DC on 06/01/2009 Pros: Durable, Stylish, Warm, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems a little big. Other Arcteryx outerwear is perfect in a size large. I had to return it for a medium since a large was too broad and the sleeves were too long. I am a thin but tall 6'2'' guy. The large felt like a tent. I think there are a few too many Arcteryx logos/names on the jacket. Quality is good and the jacket is ideal for skiing and day hikes in the winter. It works around town too.
You get what you pay for... By traveler from seward alaska on 05/20/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My father taught me at a young age that you get what you pay for...unfortunately he was never able to shop at STP because here you get quality products (every outdoor enthusiast who is into gear knows Arcteryx is the best) at a GREAT price!! This fleece from Arcteryx is no exception...as soon as I unwrapped and put it on..I knew it would be a go to fleece for years to come. I bought the cactus and would agree the color is a little darker than pictured. I am also usually a medium but I sized up to a large and I am glad I did ( I however, do go for a bit looser fit). Buy as many as you can afford..you won't be disappointed!!
insulates well for its weight By lovesportsgear from Harrisonburg, VA on 05/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am 5 foot 7, and 150 lbs. I wanted an athletic fit, and the small achieves this well. I returned the medium as it would have accommodated some layers underneath, but by itself, was a bit loose for my preference. I love this jacket!
By Power Walker from East Coast on 05/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Good Weight, Stylish Best Uses: Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a good jacket, but feels stiff and the collar is high. Great in wet weather but not my favorite Arcteryx jacket. It's also a noisy jacket and makes a loud swishing sound, but its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. It also runs smaller at the waist.
By katrog from Boston, MA on 04/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Arcteryx never disappoints! High quality materials and construction, good colors, durable apparel.
By art snob from Westerville, OH on 04/28/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have another Arc'teryx jacket, so I was sold on the design features and construction. You get what you pay for!
By Fredbooxe from Indiana on 04/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice softshell for cool weather...e.g. low 40s. Bit bulky due to the insulation. Tight fit in arms so for me it works with a tight, thin layer. Could use another pocket on the chest.
