By Yooper girl from Hessel, Michigan on 10/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: DOG WALKING IN THE UP Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been looking for the perfect winter jacket for a year, and this one is so great! My husband and I walk our three dogs twice a day all winter long beside the lakeshore in Michigan's UP, and the wind just howls off Lake Huron into our faces. Last year I froze all winter and vowed to find some serious gear for the coming winter. This coat should be perfect, although the really bad weather hasn't started yet. The jacket allows a lot of arm mobility, and comes down in the back a little, which I always like. I got the medium and it fits perfectly-I am a true size 8, but sometimes buy a large in other brands. The Arcteryx medium is a generous medium. I am really impressed with the details of the coat and its quality, as I have been with all my Arcteryx gear. Love the lizard!

By light packer from san francisco on 10/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are very nice - they are lighter than I expected and so thin they are hard to use as an outer layer as the underlayers show up too much and look bunchy. But they are lightweight and warm and soft and comfy as shirts. The grid fleece is one-sided, which maybe doesn't matter so much, but seems lower quality. Design is quite fitted at waist. In fact, the grey ran just slightly smaller and was almost too small (I wear a medium) but the large is too big. also a little tight around cuffs, but I think all this snugness makes them warmer. You need to like the thermal underwear look, and I do. I like the grid pattern, a change from regular fleece - I had one in another brand and it aged well. All in all I'm very happy with them.
My favorite piece of gear By adam from Portland, OR on 10/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the best piece of gear I've ever owned. It is extremely versatile, warm, surprisingly waterproof, great layering piece, very breathable (love that the lower back panel is slightly thinner material to dump heat), comfortable, and looks great in street clothes as well as in the backcountry. I was extremely tempted to buy a new one at this price, but my current one, from when it was first released 7-8 years ago, is still going strong and shows virtually no signs of wear, in-spite of the heavy use.
By mtn56 from Fairbanks, AK on 10/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Cons: Would like more pockets Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat is amazingly warm for it's weight. I have a Northface Denali jacket, and this one is more wind-proof. I was a little hesitant because of the price, but it everything I could ask for in a mid-weight jacket. I love it!
