Good cushion, solid shoe, good price By LM from Atlanta on 12/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding, Versatile Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement, Trails, Wet Conditions Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A shoe that combines cushion and stability well. I wear them running and also walking, in the city, and hence on a variety of surfaces.
The price on these is excellent. I don't know how long they will last, so that could affect my overall assessment; but for now I am pleased.
The only thing I don't like is the vinyl green trim: it is sort of ugly.
Be sure to order one size up, as these are running shoes. I.e., I wear 8.5 for street shoes, and ordered 9.5 for these, and they are just right.

By none from Lyle, WA on 12/10/2007 Pros: Comfort out of the box, Comfortable, Stable Best Uses: Country roads some trail Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this shoe on gravel roads and some trail. It has a wide sole for good stability. Good traction on an inch of fresh snow on gravel, some slipping on snow on pavement. My past experience with asics is that they run a little small so I ordered a half size larger and was glad I did. The shoe may be a touch low on forefoot cushioning. Great comfort.
Asics Gel-Nimbus VIII Running Shoes By CeeBee from Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA on 12/10/2007 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding Best Uses: Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my third pair!
By San Francisco from San Francisco on 12/10/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great shoes, but they do take a while to mold to your feet. The first few times I wore these shoes (and my gel nimbus before these) my arches were sore. However, after a few weeks they are great shoes and wear well for about 6-7 months before needing to be replaced.
Great feel & ugly to boot By Seven Hills from Providence, RI on 12/10/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good support & extremely comfortable
By ING Miami 08 from Washington, DC on 12/09/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I switched to the Gel-Nimbus from the Gel-Cumulus line once I realized I wasn't getting enough cushioning in the heel. Glad I did. The impact is absorbed into the shoes, not into my shins. MUST BE a neutral runner to use these though, as the shoe cut itself is lower than most styles, so there is not a lot of foot control coming from the shoe. I have only taken these on short (3-7 mile) runs so far, plan to use them for my upcoming marathon.
By Kimi from Washington. D.C. on 12/09/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Hot humid weather, Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like to take nature photos and travel a lot - so i wanted some shoes that would treat my feet well and hold up to the conditions (like the Everglades!) - these are perfect for pounding pavement or rocky trails, they dry quickly when they get wet and my feet don't get too hot after a long day in them. They can transition from a run or jog to a day of sightseeing with a quick change of socks! I love Asics!
