Atomic

The Atomic ski headquarters can be found nestled in a tiny Austrian village just minutes away from a glacier that attracts some of the top names in Alpine and Nordic skiing. For over fifty years the snow-worshiping designers at Atomic have been hitting this ultimate product testing ground and applying that experience to their entire line of ski products. Being able to test their own skis and snowboards just minutes away from the design studios has helped Atomic build the most technologically advanced ski equipment on the slopes. Atomic was the first supplier of complete alpine skiing systems and continues to be a leader in cutting edge technology for skiers all over the world. You may not be able to see the nano-technology used in today's Atomic skis, but you'll certainly feel the difference after just one run. The passion that drives Atomic skis can be found on summits and slopes around the world.

Atomic Tacora Telemark Skis

light all-conditions ski
By JimboVerified Reviewer from Oregon on 11/02/2009
Pros:
Lightweight
Best Uses:
Downhill, Telemarking
Describe Yourself:
Advanced
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:
Feels too narrow
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I have some 174s from '08, and the only thing I have to say is, at 6' tall and with a narrow waist on the ski, I should have gone a little longer. Otherwise these are nice and light, the shortness helps going uphill in the trees, and the flex is forgiving enough to get over trees and other obstacles easily without breaking. They take skins OK. Downhill the skis require some speed and a rather small turn radii to really operate properly, but will grind up and down almost any conditions.

I'm a skating newbie, but so far I've really liked these boots. They fit well, (I tried them on in the store before I bought them), are comfortable and seem to perform well. No pressure points.

I love these boots but only gave 4 stars since they did run narrow and a half size small on me. I ordered a half size up from normal and they're perfect. These boots form to your foot and leg so when you get them, they will be tight. Just heat them with a hairdryer (or boot warmers)and wear them a few times before your first trip out on the snow. I was afraid that they were too tight when I got them but then I read about how they conform to your feet. Three times I heated them up and wore them for about a half hour. What a difference! So glad I researched these boots. They are definitely worth the effort. These are the most comfortable, adjustable, responsive boots I've worn. Changed my skiing performance immediately. Just be sure to take the time to form them to your feet. A steal!

Comments:
My previous boots were comfortable, but not quite fitted enough in the back of my foot. These provide a very nice and close fit so that I have as much control as possible on the slopes. After two days of skiing heavy powder, they did start to hurt a bit, so I was glad to have my old boots to wear for my third day of skiing. But next time I'm on the mountain I'll be back to these boots.

These skis are lightweight but stable. They might not be the best skis in any one area, but they do well in everything, so I am happy. [@]
