Good boots for muddy worksites By Jim from San Francisco, CA on 03/02/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable Describe Yourself: Outdoorsy Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for use at a muddy Habitat for Humanity worksite. They are very comfortable, offer good support, and the smooth leather and sole tread both shed mud well. Unlike other reviewers, I found them to fit well at my regular size (9D), and they're even a bit generous at the toe. Perhaps the reports of tight fit were for larger foot sizes...

By hard working from New Jersey on 08/03/2008 Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good value in a work boot. Good fit right out of the box though I ordered a half size larger per another sites suggestion. Waterproof and with a replaceable sole I expect to get a lot of wear out of these.

Review #2- they are still excellent boot By Viking from Australia on 07/06/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Stain Resistant, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Travel, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Realistic Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is review number 2, having worn them plenty during the last few months. Have bought 3 pairs of these boots for self and family- remember to order a half size bigger and I reckon you'll love 'em as much as we do. With the Shock Doctor Active X insoles and a pair of Bridgedale socks these become the most comfortable footwear that I have ever owned. Still only a 4 star because I haven't tested them out in the wet, so don't know if they're waterproof or not.
Beware!! Very Stiff and causes blisters By JTK from Woodstock, NY on 06/26/2008 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Too Stiff, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Okay the first day then gave me blisters on both heals after 2 hour hike. Very stiff and clompy. I ordered 1/2 size bigger as recomended and they were too big. Even so if they were the right size their way too stiff. Weeks to break in painfully!
By HarryJ from Palm Harbor, FL on 06/14/2008 Pros: Stable, Water Resistant Cons: No QuadCimfort, Not quite slip-resisrant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Above all the sizing issue; Quantum from LaCrosse fit me perfectly OOB (SIZE9w). BigHorn is so much smaller I couldn't believe it. Comfort level is way below Quantum. You might need to order 1 1/2 size bigger to use insole and thick socks. One manufacture and this much variances is amazing. But, they are well-made and water tight--I'll keep on wearing almost everyday.
These are good, sturdy, dependable boots By Mark from Weaverville, NC on 06/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a steep incline on my property that requires support for ankle and foot while I am mowing, digging, planting, etc. These work well. They are a little stiff but hopefully that will work out with wear. They will be used for outside work - no fancy stuff. I need them to be comfortable and useful.
