By RunHikeWalk from San Francisco on 11/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A good, solid trail running shoe that is true to size. Only drawback was the double lacing system with incredibly long laces - a bit odd. Overall, a reliable, well made running shoe.
Heavy, warm, well-made, maybe a tad big By Steve from Knightstown, IN on 11/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for trail running. I'll also use them for hiking.
The first thing I noticed was they felt heavy. I've only used them twice so far; once on a 8 mile hike and next on a 15k event. On the hike they felt a little sloppy in the heal and too warm, though I need narrow heals and a wide toe box, and anything that claims to be waterproof is probably going to feel too hot to me.
I normally wear size 10.5-11 Asics (which run small). I bought these in a 10.5 but I probably would have been OK with 10s. In other words, these may be true-to-size but if you're debating between two sizes I'd opt for the smaller, especially if you're not wanting a lot of sock. I used some nice "woolie boolies" for the 15k run and everything was fine. If they hold up (and it looks like they will) I think I'll like these for winter runs and hiking with mid-weight wool socks. I'll use something smaller and lighter for warm weather.
The lacing system is nice and works well, but getting everything tucked away into the little elastic pocket without accidentally loosening the top laces can be a challenge. Bit of a design oversight that one.

By audi from Seattle on 11/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Lightweight Best Uses: Day Hikes, School or Work Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a simple, black backpack with a laptop sleeve. Nothing too flashy and something I could take around town. This bag certainly does the trick! I like the material on the outside: cute without being too flashy. The laptop sleeve is removable, so I guess you could just use the sleeve if you wanted. It also means the laptop takes a few seconds more to remove from the backpack, but it's worth the extra padding. I have a big, 15 inch laptop and it fit into the sleeve with no problems.

By Let's go! from Wyoming on 11/14/2009 Best Uses: 3 Season Camping, Cold Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We do some serious camping as a family. The boys are 7 & 3, and they need real gear, not cartoon sleepover bags. The nights get down into the 30's, even in the summer, in the mountains. This bag is great--just like Dad's, and you can't beat the price!
