La Sportiva

La Sportiva

Proudly run by true mountaineers, Colorado-based La Sportiva North America makes footwear specifically for the vertical disciplines. Back in 1928, La Sportiva began by crafting wooden clogs and leather boots for the lumberjacks and farmers of the Italian Dolomites. Decades of experience led to the best climbing shoes around, motivating a group of American climbers to start bringing the shoes out of Italy to resell for profit. Recognizing the international demand, the company created a North American branch. Whether you're attempting climbing's "seven summits" or simply prefer half-day trail excursions, La Sportiva has anything your feet will need. From rock shoes to mountaineering boots, La Sportiva footwear utilizes only high-tech materials. Expect to find waterproof breathable Gore-Tex® uppers, lightweight polyurethane midsoles and tough Vibram® outsoles with Impact Brake Systems.

Love these boots. My husband had a pair that he wore for two years EVERY day. Boots don't usually last that long with him so I was sold on them just from that. Now I have my own pair and LOVE them. Just be aware they are stiff for the first couple days.

I have owned these boots for seven years and have found then to be excellent for serious climbing or packing heavy loads. Good to use years round. Not a boot that you would want just for hiking. These boots are made for serious mountaineering. They work very well with crampons. I have climbed winter peaks in the san Jauns, and Mount Rosa in Switz.erland

This Boot can take anything you throw at it! I have used them with a pair of MSR snowshoes on a all day hike with no problems. I used them with crampons and they performed great. This is not the kind of boot you "break in", very stiff and rugged. Made for serious Mountaineering.

La Sportiva Lynx Trail Running Shoes (For Men)

Solid shoe, but stability is a concern
By Dirt Runner from Carlsbad, CA on 11/06/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction
Cons:
Narrow
Best Uses:
Backcountry, Day hikes
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
The shoe feels comfortable thus far, but the heel is pretty narrow, making me concerned about the stability. I moved from the Salomon XT Wings to try La Sportiva because the Salomons are soft and break down very quickly. But at least the Salomons have a broader base in the heel, making the shoe feel more stable. I never fell off the sides of those, and I have rolled the La Sportivas a bit.

There is a single seam that runs across the big toe in a spot very uncomfortable for my foot. I knew as soon as I tried them on they wouldn't work so didn't wear them at all. See Service Comments
