La Sportiva

La Sportiva

Proudly run by true mountaineers, Colorado-based La Sportiva North America makes footwear specifically for the vertical disciplines. Back in 1928, La Sportiva began by crafting wooden clogs and leather boots for the lumberjacks and farmers of the Italian Dolomites. Decades of experience led to the best climbing shoes around, motivating a group of American climbers to start bringing the shoes out of Italy to resell for profit. Recognizing the international demand, the company created a North American branch. Whether you're attempting climbing's "seven summits" or simply prefer half-day trail excursions, La Sportiva has anything your feet will need. From rock shoes to mountaineering boots, La Sportiva footwear utilizes only high-tech materials. Expect to find waterproof breathable Gore-Tex® uppers, lightweight polyurethane midsoles and tough Vibram® outsoles with Impact Brake Systems.

I ran in 4 inches of new snow with these right out of the box on semi technical trails. No blisters, my feet stayed warm and cozy. The soles gripped really well. One small caveat: in my haste to get out the door, I could not get the little ankle gaiters attached. Don't know yet if the shoes are durable or not, although they appear to be.

Comments:
The lynx fits true to sportiva sizing. It might be a little small compared to other brands. Awesome traction on trail. Can be slippery on clay hard-pack though or breaking them in around town. The toe bed is just a hair narrower then i would like but it's not that noticeable. Fit, comfort, and support are great even with stock insoles. Makes you wanna go tear up some trails.

I wear out shoes quick switching between various activites so I've been on a search for a good quality shoe, and the habanero seems to be the best shoe yet. Awesome traction on wet rocks, not so good on wet grass, however. These shoes work great on rock scrambles, mountain biking, hikes and around town... Overall Awesome shoe

Comments:
i wear these everyday now to walk to class on the trecherous brick sidewalks of cambridge. they grip very well, support my feel on long days, and are an exciting color combo, which gets lots of curious looks from the passerby but which absolutely delights me! definitely get a WHOLE size larger, as i am usually an 37 (euro), and i got a 38 based on other reviews and they fit perfectly, however i wouldn't do much running in them even now, as my toes need a bit more space at the front for that high impact activity.
