Bought these in plenty of time to break them in for an up coming trip to the Grand Canyon. The first time I wore them I went 5 miles with out any problems. They may be one of the best boots I have owned. For all the features they are pretty light weight!

Comments:
I've always had good luck with Lowa footwear. My feet are narrow from heel to toe and Lowas fit better than any other brand I've tried. These shoes have a unique 'exoskeleton' type of design and they really hug the foot. At first it felt a bit strange, but after a few weeks of wearing them constantly I've grown to like the feeling. There is no slipping, rubbing or chafing at all. They are very light weight and stable. The soles of these shoes are not thick like boots, so you feel the ground a bit more. I imagine that one could day hike in these with a light pack on established trails. The sense of feeling the ground might actually be a plus - though I might worry about getting sore feet if the terrain is very rough. Even if you want to wear them just as a casual shoe, they're great for that. They have a unique and attractive style that's refreshingly understated in a market full of cartoonish athletic shoes.

I have been working in the backcountry of Yellowstone all summer, and these boots were comfortable and functional from the start -- no new blisters, and they didn't irritate the old ones. The only problem is that they're not waterproof -- water gets in through the lacings. But otherwise wonderful boots with great support!

Light weight and warm. Looks great with jeans! Nice fleece interior will keep toes & feet warm! Love the look, also. Fits true to size!

After an exhaustive search for the perfect shoe - I think I've found it. It fits my wide foot very comfortably. It's waterproof, very supportive, well made, durable, and stylish.I can wear them fly-fishing in the high country after a 5 mile hike and in the office with khakis. If you need one pair of shoes to "do it all" then these are the ones. This shoe kicks-[*]
