By toroggo from Texas on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Second pair of Lowas I have had. First pair I have had for years and even used shoe goo on the soles to keep them going for a few more months. Tops and insoles outlasted the outer soles, but gave me a good 5 years of service.
By Sco from Cave Creek,AZ on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I hike on rugged mountain trails 25-30 miles per week. My foot is 13.5 and C width so the Lowa in 14 fits me perfectly.
It is a little stiffer than a normal trail shoe giving it great stability and hopefully long wear.
By Busy Working Mom from Colorado on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear a custom orthotic and was so pleased at how well it works in these shoes. They are just what I was looking for - a relatively nice looking hiking shoe that I could wear everyday, including to work. I love the nice stiff shank which provides great stability.
By Morning Walker from Portland, OR on 11/10/2009 Pros: Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I needed a pair of waterproof hiking shoes for my morning walks at Mt. Tabor in Portland, OR. The fall and winter are, uh, wet and rainy here. Though I thought the color was rather putrid, I decided to try these because I had owned a pair of Lowa's in the past and loved them. These arrived, tried 'em on and even with thin sox are too small. So I'm sending them back.
By Red1 from Vienna VA on 11/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Cons: Not exactly as pictured Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: There is more white in the pattern than show in the picture
By howienrc from Olympia, WA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have always LOVED my Lowa shoes and boots. However, they have always runned bigger. I usually wear a 10 and with Lowa's I order 9.5, but with these shoes I think I could even wear a 9! I guess I'll have room for thick hiking socks. I don't feel slippage and they are comfy, so I'm going to stick with them.
By Howienrc from Olympia, WA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a die hard Lowa person, however, the deal on these was too great to pass up. They have been named hiking shoe of the year and I can definately see why. They are FANTASTIC! So comfortable. My boyfriend bought the men's boot and loves his pair.
By Girl Scout Backpacker from San Diego, CA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am starting to backpack again and have had feet problems (bunions). Having a narrow heel makes it a challenge to find boots. These are great boots, having no break in and I was able to hike and walk all day without knowing they were "new".
Good support but definitely too loose. By Doxie Mama from Coastal North Carolina on 11/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Arch Support, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this shoe mainly for everyday use at work -- I'm a pediatrician who wears scrubs and stays on my feet all day. I bought it also because the previous Lowa shoes I've owned were great; they were leather hiking/walking shoes that fit great and lasted forever. I'll keep these, I guess, but they are too loose/wide through the midfoot and the toebox, even with good midweight hiking socks and snug lacing. I haven't brought out my heavyweight winter socks yet . . . . We'll see.
Great Boots, the fit is incredible By Blister Boy from Huntington Beach, Ca on 11/02/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Very sensitive laces Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been trying for years to find boots that do not give me blisters on the heels and these do the trick. Most boots out there seem to have a wide heel box and these boots are definately more narrow in the heel box
