By Nick from Tacoma on 03/16/2010 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Professional/Guide Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the soft shell for people who hate soft shells. Lowe does something I haven't seen before. The reason to hate soft shells is that they feel a bit like wearing a wetsuit. This jacket has the same old foamy stuff. Nice color, nice collar. Nice outer layer of fabric. But it is unique in that there is a checkerboard pattern to the foamy junk on the inside. This makes the jacket less "wet suity". The fabric actually behaves like fabric. Brilliant!

Wish it had an outside D-Ring to attach a lift pass or clip gloves to.
By Wildcat Jim from Louisville, KY on 03/15/2010 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for my wife because I've come to love Lowe Alpine. As it turns out, the pullover was a huge hit! The pullover is as warm as a thick fleece jacket, but it's as good looking as it is warm. Now my wife is a Lowe Alpine fan too! Buy this if you want to be happy.

By Wee from ID on 03/15/2010 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really nice shirt, I'm glad I ordered it. Fit is a little small I would order next size larger.
Gore-Tex jacket performs as expected By Rugged Ron from Wilmington DE on 03/15/2010 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight Cons: zipper can be a pain, Zipper is left handed Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Summer Motorcycling, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my 2nd Gore-Tex jacket. The first was very durable (about 25 yr life)and I expect this one to be the same. This particular jacket is unlined so it is best suited for warm weather only. It is bone dry on the inside in wet weather. Stains (like grease) will come out in laundry. The only negatives are that it is very stiff, especially around the neck, but I am hoping that it wears in after some use. The zipper is left-handed and I do struggle with that.
Now one of my favorite gear items. By gearStalker from Orange County, CA on 03/14/2010 Pros: Lightweight, Rugged, Weather Resistant Best Uses: AT skiing, Mountaineering, Snowshoeing Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was stalking other full-zip, gore-tex pro, hard-shell pants for an upcoming climb when I saw these Lowe's. I bought them because they sounded excellent on paper. After my winter ascent, they have exceeded my wishes. Fit better than my past hard-shells and feel great with a full pack. I'm 5'11" and the Large is perfect, I could probably be an inch taller and still work well. I am glad I did not spend the additional 150-200 that I was prepared to pay.
