I purchased a 1837 Luminux and one day after 4 months I looked down and noticed the crown was missing. I set the watch when I purchased it and never touched it again. The crown simply fell out. Understanding that these watches are touted for their reliability, I fully expected Luminox to repair the defect under warranty. I called the USA Luminox corporate headquarters in California and was told that my problem was not covered under warranty. They refused to stand by their product. Tough luck. So, if you purchase a Luminox watch and it starts to fall apart for no reason as mine did, be aware that you will receive no satisfaction from a company that supposedly prides itself in it's build quality.
By Wotcher from Cedar City, UT on 10/28/2009 Pros: Easy To Read, Good Quality Best Uses: Everyday, Travel Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a watch that was easy to see in the dark and had a second time zone indicator. This Luminox fills the bill exactly.
The instructions are minimal and mine was shipped witha dead battery.

First two weeks has watch maintaining accuracy within two seconds checked against NIST radio time clock. Highly visible and easy to read day and night display. Very comfortable wide and flexible band.
great watch/great watch co. By livinnnc from raleigh, nc on 09/25/2009 Pros: Easy To Read, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Travel Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: MICROTEC "lanterns" make a Luminox worth owning to begin with. 1st time buyers will certainly understand the value of "readability". Luminox timepieces are glowing with readability.

Nice, bright, light weight By Da Hammer from SoCal on 09/01/2009 Pros: Glows bright, Good Quality Best Uses: Outdoor activities Describe Yourself: Athletic, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great watch for telling the time in the dark, the glow is always on. This watch is light and slim. It is not bulky, in fact I find it a little smaller than most of my other watches, I might even call it midsized now that most men's watches are larger than they were a few years ago.
a lot of watch for the money By artman from Bridgton, Maine on 08/28/2009 Pros: Easy To Read, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Formal, Travel Describe Yourself: Athletic, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I can use the watch as a night light. I had to adjust the band and went onto You-tube and found a tutorial that saved me a trip to the jeweler. By far the best bargain yet from STP!
By Robert from Boston, MA on 08/25/2009 Pros: Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish, VERY Light Cons: Takes Getting Used To Best Uses: Everyday, Nighttime, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, High End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The digital camo face, takes getting used to. The hands tend to blend into the face's background colors in the daytime. The nighttime visibility is Luminox fantastic. The size is great for a medium/small size wrist and would look right on a man or a woman. So light you forget it is on (or off). The rotating bezel is counter-clockwise only and a bit tough to rotate. The band is a nice smooth tacky rubber with two loops for the strap excess. I like it enough to buy a second one and would not hesitate to give it as a gift to a hunting buddy.
