Dahlgren

Dahlgren

You’d have a hard time convincing a Dahlgren sock lover to switch to another brand. Not only does Dahlgren use fine natural fibers like alpaca and merino wool (both with great capacity for warmth and moisture control), but designs their socks with strategic comfort zones that make the most of technology built into athletic and outdoor footwear. Dahlgren’s patented Dri-Stride system is a two-step construction method that promotes the absorption and transfer of moisture using natural fibers and Wick Spun acrylic. Other foot-friendly amenities include ventilation panels, inverted toe seams, "cling-free" stitches, and non-binding stretch tops that don’t bunch or sag. Try a pair and see for yourself why active people give Dahlgren socks such rave reviews.

These socks are wonderful and very comfortable. They are a little slippery though. We have newer wood floors and I almost hit the floor when I walked on it with these socks.

Dahlgren City Walking Socks (For Women)

Seams on the toes
By Snug as a BugVerified Reviewer from Estes Park, CO on 12/13/2007
Pros:
Regulates Temperature Well
Cons:
Bulky, Causes Blisters, Seams at the toenail line
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This sock will work its way to the back of my drawer from non-use. The seams are uncomfortable, both along the toenail line on the front/top of the sock, and on the sides where the big toe and the small toe touch the sock. I switch socks from left to right in order to find a comfort zone...but that's a hassle. I need a sock I can count on...no bulky seams to irritate my feet.

Comfortable
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These seem a little short in the foot and wide in the toe. They seem to be doing what they're meant to do, as far as I can tell, but I don't like them in my waterproof shearling boots. They feel wet after a while. They're not attractive socks, so I wouldn't wear them with anything but a boot or high shoe that covers the two-tone. I'd prefer a solid color construction.

Dahlgren Alpaca Light Hiking Socks (For Women)

okay, but not exciting
By butrflyVerified Reviewer from southern PA on 12/07/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These are thick & supportive. They add support to my winter boots that don't have much themselves. They're not pretty, so I'd keep them covered in boots. They do start to feel damp toward the end of the day, and I've never experienced that with a sock before trying Dahlgrens. I'm not an athletic wear pro, so I'm not sure if they're supposed to do that.

Gave to son as gift. He was immediately impressed. He's an avid runner, tennis player, & high-scholl conscious about style. He likmed the comfort and warmth from a thin, well-constructed pair.
