Marmot

Marmot

High alpine winds, impromptu thunderstorms, plummeting mercury... Marmot clothing and gear sets your mind at ease. Outdoor enthusiasts have trusted their comfort to Marmot clothing, packs, sleeping bags and tents for the last 30 years. Marmot was one of the first in the United States to fortify outdoor gear with Gore-Tex® revolutionary, waterproof breathable technology and remains Gore’s oldest customer in the world outdoor market. In 1976, Marmot’s college student co-founders spent seven nights in a commercial meat locker, testing prototype sleeping bags with and without Gore-Tex®. They were also known to test clothing under fire sprinklers. And while their testing methods may have grown more sophisticated, they haven’t lost sight of their goal to make the highest quality performance gear that is simple, easy to use, comfortable, durable, and the lightest weight possible.

Comments:
This product excells! It should be sold with a waterproof compression bag for packing! Its seems crazy that a product that is clearly marketed towards the backpacker would not come standard with a compression bag. Loft is good, weight is fantastic. I would like to see some anti-slip strips sewn into the bottom of the bag to assist it staying on pads. I found the bottom of the bag would slip off the sleeping pad if you were doing more than sleeping in the coffin position! This is a minor complaint for a solid product that performs as good as it looks!

This jacket is great- although it is too cute to workout in. It does fit small. I wear either an extra small or a small in everything, and I took a medium in this jacket. The sleeve length is true to size though. It is so cute- lots of compliments on it so far.

These shorts have a sheen to them that looks completely disco. It's too bad because the fabric seems very high tech, but unless you like to look like Derek Zoolander, it's a bit too "glam."

Marmot Ember Jacket - Fleece (For Women)

Cons:
Wears Out Quickly, Wind blows right through
Best Uses:
Casual Wear
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Chest Size:
Feels too small
Fit:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought this to zip into my shell. It started off very warm and soft. After two seasons of occasional use, it's faded and isn't exactly flattering. Maybe a different color (bought black) this wouldn't be as apparent. The fleece is clumpy and its really only warm on days when there is no wind. It's uncomfortable zipped into the shell since both jackets have pit zips, which irritate my arm pits and underarms. The cut is nice and I like the feminine lines, but I have cheaper fleece jackets that look and feel a lot better than this and have been through a lot more.

Very snug fitting and warm, and I really like how the zipper is covered at the top so that the zipper doesn't rub the chin. Somewhat expensive for a basic running top, but I hate being cold!
