Marmot

Marmot

High alpine winds, impromptu thunderstorms, plummeting mercury... Marmot clothing and gear sets your mind at ease. Outdoor enthusiasts have trusted their comfort to Marmot clothing, packs, sleeping bags and tents for the last 30 years. Marmot was one of the first in the United States to fortify outdoor gear with Gore-Tex® revolutionary, waterproof breathable technology and remains Gore’s oldest customer in the world outdoor market. In 1976, Marmot’s college student co-founders spent seven nights in a commercial meat locker, testing prototype sleeping bags with and without Gore-Tex®. They were also known to test clothing under fire sprinklers. And while their testing methods may have grown more sophisticated, they haven’t lost sight of their goal to make the highest quality performance gear that is simple, easy to use, comfortable, durable, and the lightest weight possible.

I bought this tent based on the 50 plus postive reviews it received on Sierra Trading Post to use on motorcycle camping trips. Set up is easy. Plenty of room for two plus gear. It will also be used with the grandchildren which is why I bought the 3 person model. Great tent for backpacking or car camping.

Comments:
I was looking for a lightweight rain jacket to wear while walking and running. I have a winter jacket, so I didn't need one with insulation, but I wanted one that is waterproof/resistant as well as breathable. This jacket fits the bill. It is exceptionally well-made, with multiple zip pockets for a key, money, what have you, as well as graduated velcro adjusters for the sleeves and a drawstring waist if needed.

I bought this "jacket" from Marmot after misplacing (I refuse to believe it's lost) my Dri-Clime "Windshirt" which I've had for atleast 6 yrs. I wore it all the time. As soon as the temp dropped this was what I reached for, I loved it. It cut the chill in fall and spring keeping me warm and toasty. In really cold weather I added a loftier jacket with it underneath. The jacket is identical in materials (as far as I can tell) The only difference I see is in cut& weight. The jacket is slightly heavier, fuller, more of a straight cut, where the shirt is more contoured or tapered. I'm sure this jacket will serve me well also ! Great product ....

Comments:
I just got back from my Leave No Trace trainer course this weekend, and this sleeping bag was a major hit. Lightweight for the size/price, plenty warm, and really comfortable. My only beef is that I am a broad shouldered guy, and this sucker's a little tight in those quarters.
