Marmot

Marmot

High alpine winds, impromptu thunderstorms, plummeting mercury... Marmot clothing and gear sets your mind at ease. Outdoor enthusiasts have trusted their comfort to Marmot clothing, packs, sleeping bags and tents for the last 30 years. Marmot was one of the first in the United States to fortify outdoor gear with Gore-Tex® revolutionary, waterproof breathable technology and remains Gore’s oldest customer in the world outdoor market. In 1976, Marmot’s college student co-founders spent seven nights in a commercial meat locker, testing prototype sleeping bags with and without Gore-Tex®. They were also known to test clothing under fire sprinklers. And while their testing methods may have grown more sophisticated, they haven’t lost sight of their goal to make the highest quality performance gear that is simple, easy to use, comfortable, durable, and the lightest weight possible.

I returned this item only because the item did not match my shell. After I returned it, I was upset that I just didn't keep it. I had got it at a great price. Marmot has great products. The venus 800 is perfect for turning a jacket into a 3 in one with a rain shell.

Comments:
This will be great for casual warmth or a layer under a ski jacket. It is a couple inches longer in the sleeves and body than the average garment but isn't too big in the shoulders or the width so it is perfect for tall people. The seams are all neat and well-made showing high quality workmanship.

Comments:
Got it to use for running in rainy conditions, and actually returned it for a smaller size. I am so used to sizing up a little bit in workout wear, and was so surprised that large (I am a 12 in ready-to-wear) fit great and I had wonderful movement. I think that is the beauty of Marmot, the way they style the sleeves and the fit. You really feel like the coat is not there weightwise, you just feel ready to face the weather. I am going to purchase more Marmot products for various outdoors activities, as this will be best just for mild temperatures with rain. Very happy with this jacket, love the sweetpea color. My one complaint is that sleeves are a bit long, but they may be perfect for someone taller.

Okay readers, I just bought my second pair. I wore these while constructing a deck last week when the weather was "extremely" windy and cold. They were just as good on the jobsite as they were on the trail. Want to enjoy your time outdoors more this Autumn? Buy these and you will!
