By Steve from Nashville TN /Thunder Bay, Ontario on 01/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these along with the Kamik Ramey Pac boots. Ended up choosing these because they were more flexible, lighter weight and needed virtually no break in, plus they were mid-calf height rather than "tall-ankle" height. Wore them in temps down to -5F with a single pair of wool socks for several hours and worked great-never felt any cold, and my feet would feel it. One note: while these are very warm, they are very flexible all around and do not provide protection to your feet like hiking boots or steel-toe boots. If you are working around machinery, etc., these are probably not the best choice but great for around town, long walks in the snow, doing light work, etc. The Kamik Ramey boots were great, too, but heavier and not as high so decided not to keep them.

By Juergen the Giant from New England on 12/31/2007 Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: WOW these looked great. BUT sizes run small - we ordered size fourteen for our size 14 Dad.
He could not even squeeze into it. It looked large enough but with the nice thick liner - he just could not get his foot in.
We would not recommend mail order unless you are sure of your size on this one.
We will rate the returns process and look for other great boots.

So easy to put on, you don't even have to bend over. Very nice looking boot, too nice to wear to the barn, might get them dirty.
Solid, Warm and comfortable By PDN from Newton, MA on 12/24/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are terrific - solidly built and very comfortable and warm. I use them in MA while outside standing in the snow and ice and never have cold feet. The boots feel about 1/2 smaller than marked -- I wear an 8 1/2 and a 9 fits about right. The only con is they are heavy, but with an insulated boot that is probably 16" high, that's to be expected.
I wouldn't buy these again By Disappointed from Vermont on 12/23/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: After the third time wearing them out in the snow they began to get wet on the bottom. Now if i'm out in the snow for more than 20 min. my feet become wet.

Dependable , First Quality, Great Price By John from Georgia and Alaska on 12/19/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Light as can be expected, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Alaska Winter Street Wear, Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As with all Baffin Boots, these are beautifully constructed, and they're designed and made by Canadians who live in harsh winter conditions. Most other winter boots--including names you think of as Canadian--are made in China and aren't nearly as well made or dependable in cold, wet conditions.
While not designed for extreme cold conditions, these are excellent for snow, ice and rain in temperatures to about -5 Fahrenheit... with heavy wool socks and liners. They have "grippy" soles, but don't think that these will keep you from slipping on ice. That requires crampons with virtually all boots. If you anticipate long exposure in below zero Fahrenheit conditions, especially with limited physical activity, I'd recommend heavier Baffin Boots, such as the Apex. Although they're very water resistant right out of the box, I'd still use Sno-Seal on all seams to be sure.
These are not as fast to lace as the Baffin Extreme series, but lacing isn't at all difficult. The laces are generous in length. The boots also feel clunky, but not awkward. That's going to be true with all heavily-insulated boots.
What I especially like about these and all Baffin Boots--I have three pairs--is that you don't have to guess about size. If you wear size 9 1/2 or 10 shoes, you'll wear a size 10 Baffin Boot even with heavy socks.
Everything considered, these are exceptionally well-made boots for an incredible price.
