By Jane, a new Life from Coarsegold, CA on 10/20/2009 Describe Yourself: Novice User Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first pair, but came smack up to big toe and I'm sure they shouldn't be that tight. I have to return them and of course they don't have a bigger size. Oh well, will keep shopping. Once you learn how to put these on, it's not so bad.
If the boot fits, wear it! By Tunacan from Chesapeake, VA on 10/20/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Footwear is highly subjective on the demensions of one's own feet. However, If the Montrail Torre fits your feet after a reasonably short break-in, you will most likely be satisfied with this product. I average about 700 miles of Appalachian Trail per pair that I have owned. The stability of the heel cup is immediately evident even to one like me who tends to roll ankles. The durable soles spread body and pack weight evenly and does not batter my feet on rough terrain. Traction is very acceptable on steep slanting rock. It is not uncommon to see other AT hiker's wearing this boot and I must say that I have yet to hear one give the Torre anything but praise.
I would buy this boot again! I am very pleased with this product thus far! Very comfortable from the get go.

I do buy this product again and again By bad feet women from Porter Indiana on 10/16/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are the best motion control running shoes for people like me, who have alot of feet problems. These shoes are the only reason I can still run 6 to 10 miles usually 5 times a week. The only part of the shoe that wears down is the inside ankle part..then its time for a new pair cause my feet start rolling in again. But thats alot of miles...so I get my moneys worth
By Busy Mom from San Gabriel, CA on 10/15/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent Describe Yourself: Rarely Workout Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for everyday wear. Took about a day to get used to, but then loved it.
By nesser from Vermont on 10/14/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These sneakers were a great deal. They are not the perfect match for me because I'm not using them for trail running, but I've found a great brand of sneaker/hiker--Montrail. I'm impressed with how well the shoe grips my heel and stabilizes my foot (I'm an over-pronator). I am on my feet at work for many hours and I also use them for walks and light hikes. I had to add Superfeet inserts to provide extra, firmer arch support, but these shoes work PERFECTLY with the Superfeet. No aches in my feet and calves! I had been about to give up on my Superfeet, but maybe they just needed the right shoe to go in. These sneakers are very well-structured.
These shoes are garishly cute/cool. Mine are lime green and blue and I think they're really fun looking and stylish in their way. Happy to find a supportive shoe that does lead to pain in my feet AND looks fun!
By husky mom from colorado on 10/13/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear this for my daily walk/hike with my dog in the nearby hills. They support my feet in uneven rocky slopes.
Long break in but great boot By Commander from Hendersonville, North Carolina on 10/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these boots everyday working and hiking. It took a few days for them to break in and at one point I thought of returning them. Once they broke in they feel great. They are waterproof and have great support. I also ordered 1/2 size larger. If I hadn't they would be too small. The boots would still be tight if using wool socks. However they are a great buy and I would buy them again and recommend them to a friend.
