Actually for wife. She loves it and plans to use as a "shell" for spring skiing and as rain jacket in spring/fall.
Super shell for all purposes! By geologist from Chicagoland, IL on 03/11/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My previous shell was a NF Mountain Light. So I had high expectations. I didnt expect this to be this tough. I work as a geologist and Chicagoland's winters are no cakewalk. This one has held up very nicely for the last one and half years. You have to open the pit zips to vent nicely though. Wind, snow and water wont get to you at all! Sad to see Moonstone disappear.
comfortable and non-bulky By new to skiing from central florida on 12/27/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for skiing with lightweight fleece underneath.
was not at all what we thought. By Bobbi from Winchester, Kansas on 12/16/2007 Cons: Inadequate Protection, lining not enough Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: We returned it as it was not at all what we thought. My friend was buying it for a boy in need of warmth. It has no warm lining whatsoever!
Exceptional jacket for the price! By Keppy from State College, PA on 12/05/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great lightweight jacket that can be used alone as a rain jacket but is tough enough and has the features to ski in. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The only bad thing I can say is that it does not allow you to zip in an insulating layer. Other than that this jacket is great!
Great Styling, Great Performance By Steve from Long Island, NY on 09/13/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Hood is attached, Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Ski almost Daily Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Colors (styling) are great, mobility is great, fit is great. The lift ticket display window is pretty cool, but size does not accomodate all lift tickets and is impractical for mountains that utilize scannable lift cards. Could use some more internal pockets. The hood remains attached, a feature that gets annoying on the steeps and the bumps.
