It would have been great for this purpose (very warm and durable) but the fit was just a little off for him. He's tall, thin with long arms (6ft, 130lbs). The small arms were too short and the med body was looser than he wanted. But seemed to be a great jacket for the price.

The armholes are perfectly sized so that the vest stays nice and cold-air-proof. The fuzzy fleece on the interior of the vest is heavy-duty but very soft. Nice buy at a great price.
